Britney Spears' "If You Seek Amy"

I don't know if this topic's been discussed but i just thought it was pretty interesting.


So you've probably heard that Britney's New Single "If You Seek Amy" is quite controversial. "Many radio stations are reluctant to even play the barely-a-double-entendre track". I had the album way before it came out and listened to it many times, but never caught it. Even when i heard of the controversy, i went back to the song and tried to listen to it really closely, but still didn't catch what was so "wrong".

The video came out today. (The video is a bit weird, IMO.) I finally Googled the meaning of the song. It all makes sense now! Indeed, I thought it was very clever. Haha, classic bad girl Britney.

I could see why parents were so pissed off. Of course, they've now made her change it a little for the radio. :laugh:

a. makes no sense


It's like they came up with the chorus before the rest of the lyrics..doesn't really go together

Are you implying she actually thought of this herself? She doesn't write her own music, and has even admitted that in the past since it's not really a secret. Classic Britney? Try clever writer.

Are you implying she actually thought of this herself? She doesn't write her own music, and has even admitted that in the past since it's not really a secret. Classic Britney? Try clever writer.

a. can sorta make sense... all the boys/girls are begging to love her/hate her if you seek amy.... haha

but yes, clever writer.. I admit, it went over my head at first, heh.
