British police arrest 5 people linked to video of 'vigilante' Muslims

LONDON – British police say they've arrested five people linked to a video of self-proclaimed Muslim vigilantes threatening revelers on the streets of east London.
One of the videos shows a group shouting anti-gay slurs at a man in dark eye makeup. Other videos show a group accosting a drink-toting man, shooing a non-Muslim couple away from a mosque and harassing a young woman in a miniskirt.
At one point, the videographer identifies the group as "vigilantes implementing Islam" but its exact makeup remains unclear.
The videos caused a stir in England, where Muslims account for nearly 5 percent of the population and issues surrounding immigration, integration and tolerance are often in the news.
Two people were arrested in the case earlier this week. Police announced the latest arrests Thursday

I've seen some heavily westernized ones who I have no problem with, but I don't think the majority of them will ever get to that watered down level Christians and Jews are at now, because there is too much vitality in their beliefs still, and they are flooding in in too large of numbers for assimilation to feel necessary to them. Plus they're encountering a culture of total permissive, pussified liberals who don't even begin to ask that of them. They set up their own enclaves and lash out at the very teat they are suckling from.

I find it amazing that these people tacitly acknowledge that their own way of thought and operating a country are so shitty that they need to abandon their homelands en masse, but they show up at the countries nice (read: stupid) enough to let them in... and demand they turn into shitholes like their origin countries are.

It's not about how much they love their religion. It's that they get converted to extremists by people who practice the religion the wrong way. They get brainwashed. I'm really not all that concerned with why their religion is where it's at right now or whether it's reasonable to expect it to advance sufficiently in the near term...

My concern is that a large number of them are flooding western nations and reproducing at a much higher rate than the native population, and are not assimilating. My concern is that this will be the undoing of western civilization.

In a sense they did assimilate. Liberals created a culture in which the ideas of right and wrong are entirely foreign and everyone should do what they personally think is right.

If this was done with no restriction at all, the entire world would be third world shitty in no time. We're going there in slow mo (not slow enough) currently.

If someone tells me it's immoral to not let ANYONE from the third world or the batshit religious world enter our first world nations, then I can say back to them... well it's no more immoral than not letting EVERYONE from those areas do so... so we're going to be immoral either way, let's just go whole hog and not let any in.

Plus, those with the means to leave those countries are a sore loss to those countries... it's immoral to facilitate a brain-drain and resource-drain from those places by letting their "best" and "brightest" come here.

Yeah not many people become accustomed to the life change here. Sure he would prod and annoy us that we should go to a mosque or try praying or other religious things but not many people are like that at all anymore. It's truly sad.

We also had a family member who came here from the mid east, he is a cardiologist and was very very religious but not extremist violent like in this post. I guess you could compare him to the same version of very religious christians.
After 9/11 he was embarrassed and felt like he was going to be discriminated against , and at some point he was I believe because he and his family moved back.

I wouldn't say that Muslims have no place, but I agree that most inhabitants of Muslim countries are culturally incompatible with the West. Fanaticism is far from univeral in Muslim culture but views that we'd consider extremist/fundamentalist are a lot more common than a lot of people want to admit.

It's kind of sad how the Muslim world has gotten worse over the past 50 years. Back in the 1960s secular Arab nationalism was the big thing. It had plenty of problems but it was a heck of a lot better than militant Islam.
