I find British behavior towards the US to be puzzling.

I would have thought the UK would have just sat back and watched another imperialistic power get shoved back to their borders the same way they did.But it looks like the UK would rather pick the winning side and make sure they were first in line...I guess an Anglo/American partnership is just too nice a prize to turn down.

Although I think it's a big gamble that might blow up in their face.
