Brit Hume Calls Upon Tiger Woods To Convert To Christianity. Really.

Obviously, working at Fox you expect the nut factor to be quite high. Their targert audience demands it. This, however is suprising even for Fox:

Brit Hume:

"The extent to which he can recover seems to me depends on his faith," Hume said. "He is said to be a Buddhist. I don't think that faith offers the kind of forgiveness and redemption that is offered by the Christian faith. So, my message to Tiger is, 'Tiger, turn to the Christian faith and you can make a total recovery and be a great example to the world."

As the video shows, he wasn't kidding:

It's hard to even know where to start with something like this. How many high-profile Christians have had damaging sex scandals of late? Why is Buddhism deemed inadequate for those with family problems? Why is a senior political analyst for a so-called "news" network proselytizing, on the air, during one of the network's "news" programs?

What he's really thinking is:
"Please Tiger come to Christianity so we can have a media field day with it and try to shine some positive light on our church."

Well if you believe your religion is the only true course and the only method of salvation it's easy to see why he would feel this way.

Of course Brit's interpretation of any criticism coming his way is just another component in the War on Jesus waged by the heathen progressives.

They are supposed to give their opinion. That's what he did. This isn't a big deal unless you're blatantly hostile.

Do you honestly think Brit Hume knows enough about Buddism to give that kind of opinion. Or is it most likely, "na..na my religion is better then yours."

Yeah, actually I think he does. Do I think Tiger becoming a Christian would help him? Probably if it helps him keep it in his pants to people other than his wife. Do I think its the only way? Of course not.

I don't understand why some people go nuts over Christian's trying to convert people and say we need to be more understanding to Muslim's who want to KILL people.

So I guess the Mormans, Muslims, etc. should get equal airtime to get Tiger to convert to their "brand"?

Being paid to be a pollitical analyst doesn't give you the right to preach your religion. His persoanl beliefs are just that, personal and not newsworthy. Tigers lifelstyle really shouldn't be newsworthy either as far as that goes.

Nobody is saying we need to be more understanding of radical Muslims who want to kill us, what is being said is that not all Muslims want to kills us just like not all Christians are trying to convert others to their religion. If you weren't clueless you'd see the difference, everybody knows this.

Yeah, good Christians don't cheat.

cough*Sandford*cough*Ensign*cough*Vitter*cough.

jesus h christ, indeed

Or if you're blatantly ignorant of what most people, christians included, would consider offensive.

Better we be more understanding of people who want to kill people. In case you haven't heard christians in Uganda are trying to pass legislation to kill gays.

This... and why not?

I'm not religious, but I study religions. At the end of the day, while I do not buy into any of the organized religions, I have noticed that each of them has helped many people along the way. If someone is able to use their faith in a chosen religion to make themselves stronger, or to overcome a problem of some kind, then it's really tough to say that all organized religion is bad, isn't it?

I may not need it, and you may not need it, but it might be just the thing that someone else needs.

If some people need religion to help them get through something, over something, or away from something, then so be it. Their doing so doesn't effect me... or you. Hating on them for doing so is just downright fucking stupid.

Do you also hate on people who visit therapists? Take medications for anxiety? Revitalize themselves with a hard workout or run?

It doesn't make sense...

And this is why you stay at the kids table another year Capt. Segue.

You know he's not saying this for Tiger's benefit.I'm sure he's aware that someone like Tiger wouldn't be watching Fox let alone paying attention to what that stiff wanker has to say

Oh dear, I wouldn't expect somebody on Fox to so brutally slam Christianity and their phony practice of forgiving important people who sin. A few donations to the church and a few dips in the river and voilà, you are forgiven. That's why the Mafia is Christian too. But shame of Brit for rubbing that is people's faces. Hypocrisy doesn't like itself exposed.

There are many paths to enlightenment, Brit.

Your path clearly begins with your head shoved up your own rectal cavity ....

Is Brit Humes supposed to be a newscaster or a commentator? I always thought he was supposed to be a newscaster, but even on Fox it seems extreme that a newscaster would sink to such an unprofessional low.

Trying hard to figure this out.

It sounds to me like he is saying that people in general don't think any but a Christian god can do an effective forgiveness routine that would allow them to forgive him too.

Maybe in addition to a talent agent, he needs a god agent for the fixer upper PR.

On a personal note, I feel that he is renowned as a golfer, not a practitioner of monogamy. So I really don't care if he gets a little on the side. That's between him and his wife.

You guys are looking to far into this. That was from a commentary segment. He's giving personal opinion. WHOOOOOPDIE DOOOOOO.

And like I said he was saying this for the benefit of the average viewer of Fox News who are evangelical Christians, definitely not for Tiger as he even knows that Tiger wouldn't be watching as he's not part of the demographic they cater too.
