Pastry. It's the granola bar of bread products. People like to pretend granola bars are a healthy snack when they're really just candy bars with a different name on the wrapper. Brioche is a donut masquerading as bread.
What's next? You gonna claim cheesecake is a cake?

Bullshit!
I’ll post a picture of a breakfast sandwich on a brioche from Alltown Fresh

Edit: if I remember

We have white bread and Roman Meal. WTF is brioche?
I had to look that up too. I liked the pic online so I ordered some and I was very but pleasantly surprised.

I know that to make it you add more butter to the mix. But it's also vaguely sweet so presumably some sugar too. Not sure about eggs but it does have a very pale yellow color

I so badly want to pronounce it bree-oh-she but apparently it's just bree-yoush.
I love brioche bread.
But it's not that great for you.
It tastes great because of the extra sugar added.

Cheapest place I buy brioche is at Walmart.
And they have different flavors.

So good but not that healthy.
I'd still pick it over wheat but not multi-grain

We like brioche bread for making french toast.
Yes! That should be amazing.
I guess it depends on how you define pastry.

Merriam-Webster says it has to have high fat content.

Cambridge says it has to be rolled flat.

Britannica says it has to have a relatively high proportion of fat.

While brioche is enriched with fat I think the ratio is low enough that it fails these definitions.
Very interesting. Thank you for the info. :)

Newsflash, anything that tastes good is bad for you. Fucking eat and live a little, just eat less of it.

I suppose. The meds I take tend to suppress my appetite. So I can get away with a little indulgence. I try to make up for it with fruit and veggie smoothies but I'm not always feeling that. I've been getting Japanese Pokii(?) a couple times per week but with sticky white rice. The rest is virtually all veggies, esp. if I get the weird tofu they have for "protein."

I do have to admit that I went thru 2 6-packs of the devil's pastry in 3 days. I'm afraid to look at the calorie count.

Err fruit smoothies are not healthy at all. And it is possible to make tasty tofu dishes.

Example

Poke is Hawaiian. I guess you chould say Chirashi is pretty close to poke.

Tofu's good. It can be anyway. It's a blank slate that can turn into anything you want. Texture's the only thing that doesn't substantially change. I like it marinated, then grilled on skewers.

The drier variety is good as well. I would never eat a tofu turkey though.

Stir fry with some chive flower and pork slices.

Just stir fry pork before you add in the tofu and chive bloom.

It's bread IMO. It uses more sugar? Perhaps, but it's no doughnut.

I suppose by the definitions in dictionaries, it sounds like it could be considered pastry because of the high fat content.

I still voted I don't like you for stirring all these emotions over french things. ;)

Bacon, specifically Costco low sodium bacon (3lbs).
Bake 1 lb on wire rack/cookie tray combo.
Let fat drip into tray.
Eat with romaine lettuce as the bread, pepper, and garlic powder.

Protip:
Do Intermittent fasting so 1 days worth of food

Delicious smoothie:
1 can condensed milk
1 8oz bag frozen mixed berries from Walmart
16 oz low fat milk
Put in blender

Drink with bacon lettuce wraps (above)
