Bringing Windows XP-64 to the Desktop.

Windows XP-64 is touted as being a great matchup for Intel's Itanium. Over the last couple months however AMD's 64-bit ClawHammer has been demonstrated booting WinXP-64 as well as running applications in WinXP-64.

So here's my question: How realistic would it be expect OEM's to have Windows XP-64 installed with ClawHammer systems in the future? What's stopping OEM's from demanding ClawHammer systems with WinXP-64, knowing that would appeal to even the most ignorant of OEM consumers (the myth "64-bit is better than 32-bit" idea). (Btw, would MS charge the same price for WinXP-64 as WinXP?

Also, what advantages does WinXP-64 have over WinXP?

The reasons for 64bit aren't that good right now, but once 8GB of memory starts to become 'standard' on a PC, it will become more & more important. It's really a move for the future, as opposed to satisfying a current need.
