Bringing my PC onto a plane ride... how do I bring it on?

If I ship it UPS or ExpressPost, will they cover damage to electronic items if I insure it up to 1000? I would carry it on with me and hold it, but I don't think I can do that for flight safety reasons...

Shipping it probably seems like the best way to do things. I have a case box because I just bought a new case, so it's complete.
