Question Bringing Dream Machine Pro back into conversation.

Wondering if anyone has tried this.

I had issues with ubiquity's transceivers. Meaning they would not work in 10G.
I wound up buying a full duplex auto negotiating transceiver from amazon. not I can get over 1G download speeds.
My PC has a 5GB ethernet port, so I got to thinking, and looking at 2.5 switches. (my modem only has 2.5G port or 1G ports on it)

So port 11 on the DMP looks to be an output port according to this. Which is the port under the 10G SPF port.

So main question is even without buying a 2.5G switch, would that #11 SPF port, OUTPUT with a auto negotiating SPF transceiver to the PC?

@ch33zw1z and or @aigomorla since I am almost certain you both have experience with the DMP or SE.

Port 11 with negotiate speeds to the other end, sure. Will it negotiate to speeds other than 1 or 10 gig, unlikely

What are you trying to setup a 10gig link between that didn’t work?

I was able to get a 2.5G link from modem to DMP with a negotiable SPF. Ubiquity's SPF to rj45 are 1G or 10G only.

If the incoming SPF I ordered which is same as one I'm using to get over 1G now will link to my PC at 2.5 or 5G then I will look at a higher rated switch.

Currently limited by my modem provisioning. Which is 1.2G and 60 upload. But our current system as is (HFC) has capacity for 2G and 175M upload.

I just kinda caught last night that port 11 may be an output SPF connection that is possibly for greater than 1G switching.
If the DMP CPU can handle the overhead of connecting it to a 2.5 or 10g switch. (If that makes sense)

I should be able to confirm tomorrow night if shipping isn't delayed.

I am being limited by my modem provisioning, which is 1.2g d and 60M up. It only does that initial burst up sometimes past 100 but always settles at 60-65m ul.

This does confirm though, that I can go, 2.5G or 10G switch on the UA6 and 7, I believe the cameras are 1G, but my PC is really MY main point of concern. I do have a MOCA device with a 2.5G link but 100M worked fine also.

It will apparently auto negotiate if you have an auto negotiating SPF transceiver.

Which seems to be the case because the 10 gig I bought from ubiquiti and the one gig I bought from you big witty both had issues.

If u mean the cable from UI won’t negotiate other than 10Gig or 1Gig, then yea makes sense. Which cable PN?

Its the UI SPF to rj45 transceivers. Not a cable. Speaking of those I have a faulty termination in one, it's all got stuff under and against it to it's green light on the switch. I am using premade CAT6 for modem to DMP and DMP to my PC which was on the prior, it is also a CAT6 premade just shorter than 6 ft.

UI SPF to RJ45 would not do this. The right side of diagram. They are only 10 or 1.

EDIT: I didn't know that when I bought them. Thought everything auto negotiated then.
