I was wondering what other pastries could be brought in that people would like?

Need to stay away from the following : Bagels, anything frosted like long johns, bear claws, etc, and english muffins

What are some other pastry delicacies that go well. I need 2 dozen at least.

People always bring in glazed donuts or cake donuts with sprinkles and it gets old..

I think I can eat my body weight in raspberry danish.

Usually you get it in a sheet, but I know a few pastry shops around here sell it in individual servings by the dozen.

If you have a chinatown nearby, chinese pastries are awesome. For sweet pastries, I like egg tarts, custard buns, pineapple buns (no pineapple inside, its a custard bun minus the filling), and the coconut tarts. For salty pastries there's roast pork buns (some bakeries make it sweet, some make it salty, it depends), hamburger buns, hotdog buns, curry buns, and a whole bunch of other types. You can really go wild with variety and they're very inexpensive.

How about mini muffins...blueberry, banana, chocolate chip? My bosses secretary brought some in today and they were great :)

You're complaining about FREE donuts?

Or it's you're turn to bring something in?

Who cares what other people like. They obviously don't care that you're getting sick of eating donuts every Friday. How about some cold pizza? If they don't like that, tell em to shove it up their a$$ :p

No one is complaining about anything. We all sign up to bring in donuts and its my turn. I wanted to try something different. One lady brought in Bagels one day and it went over like a turd in a punchbowl. Most of the computer geeks seem to like donuts but I'd like to try something a bit different than your standard fare, krispy kreme glazed donuts, thats all.

It has to be sweet and light preferrably. Its nice to mix things up every once in awhile, but it still has to be a sweet pastry of some sort.

Why does it have to be a sweet pasty? If you're going to buck the trend, might as well go for broke.

To the OP, this might fall under traditional doughnuts, but there is nothing on this earth that is a finer example of the height of pastry than the Jelly Doughnut with raspberry filling.
