Goosemaster, can you PM with instructions on how to turn .TS files into H.264 compatible files? I have a bunch of HD goodies i'd like to share.

Jsut put it in Nero recode, set it to use HDTV - AVC, set the size you want, and glick go.

It's so much easier than the route I took i nthe past

Nero Recode (I have recode version 2) will not accept ts files. How do you normally add them to Nero Recode?

I convert them to mpeg2

ah I see. that was my biggest problem, converting the ts files. what program do you use to convert them to MPEG2?

hdtv2mpeg2

You should not need to run the file through HDTV2MPEG, just rename the *.ts to *.mpg. A transport stream is still an MPEG2 file.

IIRC, the data is of MPEG2 type, but the container isn't. Most applications can not read a TS container.

I haven't experienced any problems yet. Canopus ProCoder and Moonlight OneClick convert renamed *.ts -> *.mpg fine.

Wow, I don't have a chance in hell. I could only get VLC player to play it, and it crashed after 30 seconds of playback. But my system's a bit on the low end of things too.

success on the bikini destinations.h264!!
changed extension to .wmv, dragged it into wmp10, hit "yes" to the warning ("the file you are attempting to play has an extension that does not match the file format blah blah blah"
*BAM!!*

How many FPS did you get? And why didn't you use the Moonlight-Elecard Player?

hmm...i think i left it for dead when it played Serenity trailer like crap but MPC played it smooth (from the other thread). I guess in trying to tinker with settings, extensions, filters, etc., the actual player just slipped by. But indeed, it does play in the moonlight player. couldn't pull up stats for it in wmp10, but the moonlight player shows 22fps. Audio, though, is stuttery in both.

Now i'm determined to get it to play in MPC!
