I heard on the radio last night that our troops are being withdrawn from areas where they are being killed because the Iraqis are bringing it on. Anybody know if it's true? Hope this isn't a repost. I didn't see nutten about it with a quick look.

The first two posts were submitted before there was any content in the thread. Syringer wanted to know how I made elite. I don't know but it might have happened in the same way as this post begun, by hitting enter at some premature point but a bit later when what I had written still made sense.

I've read our troops are being withdrawn from one area at the request of the Iraqis they're "training" to be police. The Iraqis had an ultimatum - Americans leave or they'd all quit.

I've read our troops are being withdrawn from one area at the request of the Iraqis they're "training" to be police. The Iraqis had an ultimatum - Americans leave or they'd all quit.

The Falujah police felt that Americans were more of a liability (read made them all targets) than an asset so they held a protest and said that either the Americans get out of town or they would quit. So we left. Pretty simple, probably good judgement as well.

Reminds me of the time Mulla Nasrudin's students decided to play a trick on him. They each tool an egg and hid it in their robes. Then when they were with the Mulla they suggested everybody pretend to be a chicken and see if they could lay an egg. (In the Mulla's world people knew how to have real fun) Amidst much clucking and rustling the students each produced an egg. The Mulla looked and said, "Among so many chickens there's always one cock."
