Brightly colored cases?

I plan to build a simple machine for my 12 year old stepson. His one requirement is that he gets to choose the case, and he wants it to be green or some other bright color.

I want to do the whole machine (including OS but excluding monitor) for $500 to $600, so it would be nice to get the case and PS for $75 to $100. I do not expect the case will be opened very often once it is complete, so things like mobo or HD trays don't matter much.

Can anyone suggest a good place to look for simple, brightly colored cases? I don't want to go the Alienware look if I can help it.

Thanks.

Its funny; after I posted my question, I decided to take a look at Newegg just on general principles, and found their search by color option. They have 18 green cases under $150. I am only up to about $60 so far, and already see a few that look good to me, though I can imagine getting a new PS for many of these.

If folks have any other sources, I'd like to see em, but for now it looks like I will be doing business with Newegg once again.

Why not go for something black/silverish, and use green CCFL/LEDs for his effect? That way, if/when he gets bored of the PC Ricer look, just switch 'em off and you're back to sleek stylishness.

Why not go for black/silver? Because the boy insists on green. I tried pushing black, and failed utterly!

My GOD that's one ugly color... I had to reach for the trash can to retch into... :Q

hahah, at least its steel, they can scrape the paint when the boy turns 14 or 15 and redo the finish.

He has pretty much decided on This One...

Thanks everyone.

Make sure you buy fans for the intake and exhaust, they are not included. You need an 8cm for the front and an 8 or 9cm for the rear.

Beauty's in the eyes of the beholder...just wait till you 12 yr olds start comparing soulmates 😛

The Crecarc, your first choice looks a lot like the case his older brother chose.

Fortunately for the sake of 12 year old relations, the green case he chose originally went out of stock, and he chose this one instead:

The need for green is met as follows:
DFI LANParty NFII Ultra B motherboard with UV reactive green headers and cables
Ultra 500w power supply in Titanium green, also with UV reactive cables (silver)
Artec CDRW, DVD and floppy all with metallic green faces.

I have not finished putting it together yet, but I think it may look a bit of alright once it is done.

Yes, I turned 13 in October, and I love my Thermaltake Tsunami. The rest of TT's products are pretty abstract though.

This is the case you need! 🙂 Matching 550W or 450W PSUs also available.
Edit: Whoops, sorry, guess the case has already been chosen. Looks pretty spiffy, was thinking of potentially suggesting one of those "transformer theme" cases, haven't seen that one before.
