Breville ikon Espresso Machine BES400XL for $150 at Costco B&M. This is an insanely good deal -- same machine costs $400 at Macy's and $300 on sale at Amazon.com.

Accepts ground coffee or any E.S.E. pods, has professional steam wand, and has really great user reviews at lots of websites, including Macy's and Amazon.

I just picked up one of these for the wife and me! And... since I got it at Costco, it's got Costco's lifetime satisfaction guarantee!

Personally, I think making your own coffee with a machine like this is easily a "hot deal" compared to buying Starbucks ;)

Just wanted everyone to know I've had this machine for 2.5 months now, and the wife and I are ecstatic. We get pods in bulk from podmerchant.com and we have the best coffee around from our own kitchen.

(I won't even buy a latte/cappuchino at Starbucks anymore since they don't know how to make them properly... now that I'm back in the swing of making my own I've gotten picky again ;) If I need a coffee at SB I just get a Pike's Roast, since they can't mess that up )

It's a good little machine but no "professional steam wand" has a froth enhancer. Those are only found on low end home machines.

Oh come on, it's optional. You just take it off and throw it in a drawer never to be heard from again. (The ikon even comes with a hidden storage space behind the water tank to hold things like that).

But I definitely share your feelings about using a froth enhancer... Kindof like "flavor enhancers", e.g. MSG.
