Meh. Whatever I felt for Favre ended this season.
He's more a tragedy now than anything else.

My guess is he throws in the towel for the rest of the year and is done forever. Last week was the last pro football game Wrangler McFarve will play.

Kinda sad but him not playing increases the Vikings chances of winning tonight. Not that I think T-Jack is such a great player but he's still better than a badly hurt Favre.

Too bad he didn't retire sooner. We would have been saved from pics of his "5 star wangler"...

He really needed to stay retired. He had a great season last year after some questionable games as a Jet and Viking

Funny thing is with his arm the way it is they probably had a better chance to win with him playing. Man that team is a fvcking trainwreck.

Why do you feel bad for him? He's an attention whore who craves seeing his name in the spotlight. The most disgusting thing is that the entire NFL are a bunch of enablers. No commentators, coaches, or players had the balls to talk about how much he f-ing sucked this year.

True to his career, nobody will ever mention how horrible he has been when it matters -- he's a choker of epic proportions.

Once upon a time I liked Favre, but that quickly ended when the media circus began and I took a look at how bad he's been in big games.

IF you were playing that game, and IF Madden were still in the booth, we'd all be attending Mosh's funeral. On the bright side, having all the liquid in your body replaced with alcohol would preserve you fairly well.

Favre tries to profit from end of streak

Apparently, a salary of $16 million for 2010 isn’t enough.

Not long after Vikings quarterback Brett Favre was placed on the inactive list for Monday night’s game against the Giants, Favre’s official web site began selling a signed football commemorating his 297-game streak of starts.

For the low, low price of $499.99.

“One of the most historic streaks ever in all of sports has come to an end,” the message reads on Favre’s site. “The NFL’s own Ironman Brett Favre has ended his consecutive starting game streak at 297. Chances are if your under 40 you don’t remember a time in the NFL with out Brett Favre playing on Sunday. This is a monumental feat especially at the quarterback position. Just consider since 1992 the Chicago Bears have watched over 20 QB’s start for their team; and the average career length in the NFL is less than four years.”

The signed ball will include the inscription “297 starts 1992-2010.”

Surely, there has to be a better way to spend $499.99.

I LOL at all the Favre haters...YES, I agree, he SHOULD have retired at the end of last season...but money talks...and he was persuaded to come back...again.
Do you blame him? Would any of us REALLY turn down $16,000,000 to play football...just one more season?

I'm not an athlete, I'm all busted up, and IF I finished the season, I'd probably be in a wheelchair...but for $16 million? I'd damned sure give it a go. (just as long as I didn't have to win to collect) :p

The guy's been a pretty amazing quarterback over the years...

(from wikipedia)
"He holds many NFL records, including most career touchdown passes, most career passing yards, most career pass completions, most career pass attempts, most career interceptions thrown, most starts, most consecutive starts, most consecutive starts by a QB, most career victories as a starting quarterback, most sacked, and most fumbles."

He was a "give it all you've got" quarterback for almost 20 years. Not many (if any) other football players can come close to matching the things he did in his career.

I respect what the guy has done and played through, but its time for him to pack up and go home.

How can you say he's an amazing QB? He holds the record for most INTs and fumbles. Isn't it obvious he's just a mediocre QB who's gotten to play for a really long time? He started out good but fell to average at the end of his time in GB and has just been bad ever since, save for last season. It all averages out to a mediocre career in the end.
