As to you other point, ther have been 26 shootings since 2006, that's more per year than the rest of the time frame. Can we say the AWB is the reason? No but there does appear to be a correlation or at least something worth researching.

To draw any conclusions you need before, during, and numbers after anything is tried and even then there are other factors that might affect the results.
