Breaking spaghetti

I read an article on this recently, and this website explains why spaghetti breaks into more 3 or more pieces when bent. Cool stuff.

This is a problem that has existed for quite a while, with scientists just now discovering why it happens.

so, how do you get it to not break in 3 or more pieces? those little pieces at the bottom of the pot always annoy me.

grab a 1" diamter stack and hold them firmly between both clenched hands and snap. Your hands will constrain the break to between your hands (not all of them, but 95%).

hmm, i do that and a lot of them shatter in that middle part.

i guess it's not that big if an annoyance. if i come up with something esle, i'll post it for sure!
