It's like Trump's major scandals are just a smokescreen for his other major scandals and none of the major scandals are even touching upon his cabinet's looting of the nation.

Wasn't it Nixon that took care of most of that stealing the gold from fort knox and going to fiat currency? Trumps just riding his coattails, we can only hope it doesn't turn into him playing the fiddle while DC burns.

Story updated.

We've now updated the story with @ByronTau's great catch: @realDonaldTrump tweeted about the release of Podesta's emails *15 minutes* after @Wikileaks wrote to @DonaldJTrumpJr about it.

Must have went to Hope Hicks and then to Donnie. Many of them were using Hope Hicks to communicate with the dotard.

It's been obvious that Assange was sociopathic **** and a total fraud for years now. I've always been surprised that there were people on the left who seemed to like him until last year.

Assange is a douche. He exploited a very confused young man (manning) and then left him holding the bag. While he hid/hides inside the Ecuadorian embassy (I assume he is still there?). It says a lot about his character.

You mean... Assange whored himself out to Trump & the Russians with the timely release of the DNC & Podesta email hacks?

Couldn't be! He's all about truth & freedom! And so persecuted!

I'll bet he's going stir crazy after being holed up in the Ecuadorian embassy in London for 5 years. It's like prison, only nicer.

Did the Ecuadorians turn the wifi back on?

This thread is noticeably missing all those who were calling this "Russia Collusion" investigation a witch hunt that had no proof. I think this is more than enough proof of collusion between the Trump campaign and an agent of Russia (wikileaks).

But Trump said there was no collusion and so did Putin, so that is all they need. You know, promises from the accused that its all lies.

It seems like they've been taking a break or something. Maybe they're too busy getting briefed in Moscow on future talking points.

So Hope is in mortal danger right now?

When the preponderance of evidence gets too great to spin, divert, deflect and make conspiracies out of, the next move is to ignore the whole issue like it never happened until Hannity or Limbaugh comes up with another angle, no matter how preposterous, that will allow for the denial and deflection game to keep some wind in its sails.

Wash rinse repeat ad infinitum even after convictions are obtained or until the issue is put aside from having newer ones take its place of prominence.

Well, there is nothing there that directly implicates Russia's involvement in releasing emails or the Trump campaign actively planning with Wikileaks in a systematic fashion. Instead, there is alignment of and coordination of interests and an utter lack of awareness or navigation of conflicts of interest and activities from foreign states. If there was systematic collusion between Russia and Trump, then these stupid twitter DMs, emails with Russian figures, etc. wouldn't exist. So it seems that, instead of directly colluding with Russia, the Trump campaign was so greedy and immoral to not even recognize the extent they were doing so and leaving evidence of it that directly contradicts sworn testimony. John Oliver calls it "Stupid Watergate". I agree.

Well that is true, except that there are a whole HEAP of people involved in the campaign that had contacts with Russians connected to the government before, during and after Wikileaks released the e-mails they got from the Russians.

There seems to have been systematic collusion that resulted in no sanctions (even sanctions signed into law are not enacted at all but hey, what do I know, maybe the president can just not follow through with what the congress and senate has tasked him with and he has signed into law without it being a big deal, probably happens a lot, right?) and a whole load of business deals going through.

Also the whole NAFTA debacle increasing Russian exports to the US by a great big fuckload... just a coincidence... Look over there Podesta colluded, charge Hillary!!!!

At worst they are maliciously guilty, at best incompetently guilty. Or do I have it the other way around? Unfortunately deciding between incompetent and malicious takes attention away from guilty.

They are maliciously guilty by their own admission.

I wouldn't be sure about the first part of that. We already know that the Trump campaign knew before it was publicly known that the Russians had Hilary's emails. We also know that they set up a meeting to discuss Collusion. We know that Roger Stone knew ahead of time that Podesta's emails would be released. And we now know that there was coordination between wikileaks and the campaign. It does seem that a line can be drawn giving those data points.

It's not stupidity, it's incredible arrogance (which leads to stupid actions, same thing in the end). These people are in a bubble that most of us can't imagine. I sort of can from my experience with execs in a medium-size company...the "yes men" that surround most of them, the unwillingness of anyone to give them bad news, the same sort of arrogance (though obviously not at this level). You are told your shit is gold all your life, I'm sure a lot of people start believing it.

How the fvck does this guy even dress himself? Does he operate a car? How many people does it take for this moron to function in a passable manner? Holy shit.

He has the best genes because he is 3rd generation rich, chosen by Divine Right to do something.
