This part is comedy gold

“I have been in the oil and gas industry for 40 years, and this administration is trying to break us,” said Barbara Dianne Hagood, senior landman for Mariner Energy, a small company. “The moratorium they imposed is going to be a financial disaster for the gulf coast, gulf coast employees and gulf coast residents.”

AGAIN your own link shows very few major incidents in the last decade.

Do you even read your own links. The major ones are from 1980, 1979, 1982, etc...

But yea they are just following it now.

Show me a rig that exploded and threw its crew into the water and had the coast guard pick them up that did not make the news in the US.

well. on my first link, Last year, 130 of the 133 fires and explosions tracked by government officials were characterized as "incidental," while the remaining three were considered "minor." The minor fires or explosions cause between $25,000 and $1 million in damage. i'd think that 25k damage is significant. but i'd never know... because they did not make the news in the us. i can't prove to you. so you win. yay.

i only looked at up because some right wingnut was saying he has NEVER heard of any oil rigs explosion within a few months from each other and think that this is no accident.....

i was just trying to prove him wrong.

To much coincedents here . With capp and trade being the stakes. That what 4 oil related problems in the US in 4 months. Hard to believe we have traitors in government. but it appears to be that way. Lets see justice do its job or is this what we now call blind justice.

Bout 12 years ago when I was roughnecking we saw a rig blow at night. It was a few good distance from our rig but we could sure see the explosion/flames. I didn't hear a peep about it on the national news and it got a barely a passing mention on the local news. I don't even think it made the news in New Orleans. Almost all of the time the crew evacuates the rig well before it blows, at least on drilling rigs, I don't have any experience with production rigs.

A properly working and properly deployed BOP actually work really well at preventing oil spills in situations like that. If the BP spill hadn't happened I bet dollars to doughnuts you would have never heard about this accident.

BTW, it doesn't sound like the guys were "thrown" into the water by the explosion.

What's so funny about it?

A whole lot of coincidence here to push Obama's agenda. We need to have an independent agency look into this one to see if it was underwater divers or munitions that caused it. Once is an accident, twice is coincidence, third is enemy action.

Need to loosen the tinfoil hat to get a little more blood to the brain.
