We are free to move them out if we are not comfortable with the danger they are in. Even if that wasn't the case, are you saying we should screw the 14,000,000 citizens of the country we are in so that we don't screw the 28,000 military personal we chose to station there?

Plus the itsy bitty issue of those 28K troops not really being at risk unless full scale war breaks out, in which case we will reduce NK to ruble. If we start it, troops still at risk and we still reduce NK to ruble but we are responsible for starting a war that will likely lead to the capital city of our close allies being blown to hell.

If Canada places troops in LA and then thinks those troops are at risk from Mexican forces it isn't Canada's call if WE go to war or not, especially if the risk is LA being blown to hell.

They are our allies and we should back their play but make no mistake, it should be THEIR play to make. Get back to me when they start shelling a US city or sinking US Navy ships.

Yes. This is very obvious. Pretty funny that people on here are posting that's good from a military perspective to attack civlian targets. All this does is enrage and unite people against you. Very odd style of tactics.... :|

As I understand it, that threat is likely the only reason we haven't blown NK to hell already. It is also a well established "tactic" that still works to this day regarding nuclear weapons.

Lets say you catch a guy breaking into your house and you have a gun to his head. Unfortunately, he has a shotgun pointed at your dick. You know that you will "win" the confrontation but you will likely get your dick shot off "winning". Is that a fight you would be eager to get into? I sure as hell wouldn't so I say let the folk whose nuts are on the table make the call.

Question for (South) Koreans, why didn't y'all move the capital to somewhere farther away from the border? West Germany had their capital in Bonn and not Berlin (which was surrounded by East Germany).

It wouldn't really matter if the capital is somewhere else, Seoul is by far the most important city in the south. You can't really pick up and move millions of people, not to mention everything else there.

West Germany had no choice - they had no decent access to Berlin

SK already had Seoul and they naively figured that NK after coming to the equivalent of a truce would want to live in peace after a war that devastated both sections of the peninsula.
