Yes, it has been very difficult judging whether Brady's problems have been because of having the Bad News Bears at receiver or because he's lost something out of his arm.

I am going with the arm. Five or six years ago he didn't miss as many open receivers. He especially has lost something off the long ball.

Hey, Carson Palmer is 4 years younger and many who have watched him feel he is already almost washed up.

Remember, only three qb's aged 35 and older were starting qb's on opening day. Brady is 37.

Carson Palmer just isn't trying anymore I'm sure. Wasn't he the same guy that said "I have 80 million dollars in the bank, I don't have to play football if I don't want."? Or at least something similar to that? Now, I am not saying Brady hasn't lost something, but he is still playing above the average QB right now. I think he has a few more seasons in him and will stay on the roster until the Pats can find a worthy successor for him to groom.

I can't believe the Cowboys still pulled off a win. Their D Line is a bunch of people they picked up tailgating before the game. With Ware out, it isn't helping much. Lee is a beast though. He is easily the most talented person on that defense.

I have a strange feeling the NFC East will come down to that last Cowboys / whoever game again. =( I just hope they can win it. The Cowboys aren't known for playing well in December.
We could easily run the table on NFC East games. Have a few rough games with Det and NO coming up though.

That NO game will be rough. Sadly, those tough ones come much earlier than we hope.

Trying to get good tickets for that Monday night game against the Bears since I'm currently in the Chicago area.

Yes but to be fair, QBs like Peyton and Favre are really robots. Not humans.

And we know Brady is human, look at his wife. No robot could score that.

Seattle aint looking that hot either. Man is the AFC just completely dominant this year?

The FG debacle was a 10 point swing. I mean, really, what could go wrong with your Punter kicking a field goal with a backup holder? Surprise, surprise, kick goes back the other way for 7—whowuddathought?

Apart from the FG debacle, Seattle’s DEF looked really good, even great. And as a team SEA moved the ball (400+ yards) and had 20 pts and in position to score at the end if they needed the pts. So I think SEA looked fine outside of the stupid FG. Just look at the D:

* 6 points allowed (2 FGs)
* 223 yards allowed (66 rush, 157 pass)
* 2 INT
* 3 sacks

I know its Fitz @ QB and Johnson has reverted to a non-factor (again) but those are dominant stats. The D has been really good all year.

@ CAR: 7 pts; 253 yards: 125 pass / 134 rush; Cam Newton’s worst day as a pro.
SF: 3 pts; 207 yards: 107 pass, 100 rush; Kap’s worst game as a pro.
JAC: 17 pts which all came in the late 3rd with SEA up 31-0. 265 yards: 214 pass, 51 rush. Mostly in garbage time.
TEN: 6 pts, 223 yards: 157 pass / 66 rush.

The Seattle D was dominant in CAR, SF, JAC, and TN. Those are below average offenses Seattle made look very bad, so grain of salt.

You could point to IND and HOU as examples of weaknesses in SEA. And some truth there—definitely room for improvement. Yes, they had 2 breakdowns in coverage against IND (one was a 70+ long score), but that happens. The question is can it be fixed and how many times will it happen this season? Looking at the box score and Luck was bottled (208 yards, 55% completion) up well so it was the big play and Special teams (blocked kick returned for a score) that was the big difference. IND made the plays at home and deserved the win, but SEA DEF was not bad. But overall the SEA Defense played really well—definitely well enough to win.

HOU toasted SEA in the 1st half of their game, not doubt and no excuse. SEA looked BAD for 30 minutes. But then the D came back to put a clamp down on HOU in the 2nd half and overtime, allowing 0 points, and it was the DEF that won the game. And while HOU had some gaudy yardage numbers SEA only gave up 20 points.

I don’t expect SEA to shut out every team, every week, but so far the DEF is as advertised. Even the best DEF get scored on time to time:

* The 2000 Ravens (12-4) got scored on in some games; e.g. 36 wk2 Jaguars, 19 wk3 Dolphins, 23 wk11 Titans, 20 wk17 Jets.

* The 1985 Bears (15-1) got score on in some games; e.g. 28 wk1 Tampa, 24 wk3 Vikings, 19 wk5 Tampa, 38 wk13 Dolphins, 17 wk16 Lions.

The real problem with Seattle is they have a problem converting on 3rd down. And a lot of that comes down to the two issues: the OL and WR. Injuries happen so SEA needs to “next man up” and get the job down. Other teams lose their Pro Bowl LT and can pass so SEA needs to figure that out. And WR—SEA needs to fix Rice. No excuse for his play. And SEA cannot count on Harvin fixing the pass game. I don’t expect the pass game to get going. Miller is clearly their best receiver at this point and he either has to block for the POOR line or is hurt and out (double whammy).

And as bad as it is they are 5-1 and are scoring. But a LOT of room for improvement. But the building blocks are there to be very good.

I agree that Brady still has more than enough in the tank to take a team to the Super Bowl. But that team is going to have to be better and better the next few years.

My basic point was that as qb's get older, some of them, mostly the really good ones or the smart ones, actually improve as their experience and game knowledge gets better. But there reaches a point where the loss of physical skills begin to over come that. And I think, sadly, Brady is at that point.

I think with Brady, they are going to have to get Gronk back and pick up another large target for the shorter throws. Throwing down field might not be the best option for an aging Brady, but he still has his smarts and experience to make those 12-15 yard throws. Not having the targets he had last year that can do that is really showing. Gronk and Hernadez being gone might be highlighting Brady's degrading arm.

Agree with everything - especially the WR/OL...that's the one thing that stands out to me is how even when Wilson has time, there's just no seperation by the WR's - It'd be great to have Harvin step in but who knows when that will be and what % he'll be when he returns. I think Tate's doing alright, but Rice is just not helping the team at all...

On the other hand, the OL is doing a decent job w/ the run game, and they looked better this week than they have in the last couple (helps to have one of the starters back..)

its about time we finally got this out in the open:

If you are a professional football play, a star athlete, a man's man....

YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE A DAMN WEAVE!

Thank you.

We'll probably go 2-1 out of the next 3, it's not that bad. 3-1 isn't unrealistic, though it'll probably be 2-2 for the next 4.

All these fucking injuries, sheesh. 😵

Best way to get a job right now if you're a big dude is to tailgate outside AT&T Stadium with a "I played D-Line once" t-shirt on. A few Cowboy reps will approach you.

I'm not worried about the Eagles - they haven't been that great since the first game. Glennon for 2 TDs? I think Romo will be fine.
