They have a great shot at it regardless of what you believe Peyton's post season troubles are, he has the best team around him that he's ever had now

Oh, no doubt. So did Brady...until he ran into little Manning's rather "inferior" Giants squad...a similar squad that is still poised to worm their way into the playoffs with a 6-10 record.

that is the last Giants team any playoff team wants to see. 😀

Apperantly new york likes middle earth, otherwise they would have approved of the downtown stadium plan.

Hester had one good game returning (mostly due to crap ST on the other side), and has been shit the other four. Anyone can have one good game returning kicks.

And - when has Peppers been doubled this season? Maybe it happened a few times, but I haven't seen it. iirc he got owned by a backup LT in Cincinnati.

edit - we should have drafted Chandler Jones.

he doesnt have the highest average after 6 weeks with one good game

Hes doubled alot of the time, even if its just a RB chipping in(which happens alot since we rarely blitz a LB).

he was getting raped last night, even the commentators mentioned how badly he was being held

what I read is that he dinged his knee like week 3 of preseason(hence him sitting out week 4 100%, might have been week 2 actually), and was puking ass sick for week 4 and shouldnt have even played

beyond that his #'s arent down from his other years with the bears, based on what I am seeing on ESPNs stats

Jones would also have beena better choice than Shea for sure.

its the same city that charges $.08 tax if you get your bagel sliced. EACH BAGEL!

That city has lost its marbles. Add it to the list of places we need to chop off and let float out to sea.

He did have one good game (I don't remember which one, maybe Cincinnati?). He had two very long returns (that'll help an average). Other than that he's sucked. I've seen every game except for the 2nd half of the Lions game and the very beginning of this last one. He mostly gets stopped before he reaches the twenty, and doesn't appear to have any burst left. He had a fumble last night that could have been critical.

One of the reasons he has more return yardage than most guys is that he takes balls out of the end zone that he shouldn't.

And Peppers - the announcers commented one time about the ref missing hold on him. Peppers didn't record a a single defensive stat against a horrid OL.

edit - I just checked: He had zero defensive stats against Cincinnati and NO as well, and practically nothing in two others. The only decent game he played was against Det.

I may steal that to show a friend that is a NYG fan.. Lmao.

Back to the HOF, SB, Marino, Vick thing. Marino didn't win a SB. Know what he DID do? Hold damn near every passing record, stat in any category LONG before all the rule changes and the pass happy league came along. So saying well Marino didn't win a SB, why's he in the HOF? That's why.

It's very possible to never even go to the SB and still be considered one of the best to every play a given position. Barry Sanders fills the same shoes but at a different position.

The argument was the difference between McNabb being borderline HOF and Vick not being close to HOF was that McNabb went to a Superbowl. So did Brad Johnson (who I think will probably get in eventually) and Kurt Warner.

What about LaDainian Tomlinson? Is he a HOF Runningback? He never saw a Superbowl.

The argument that going to a Superbowl makes you a contender for HOF is rather silly. Warren Moon never went to a Superbowl and he is in two HOFs (CFL and NFL). He didn't even start his NFL career until he was 27.

You're really building on my statement that I put out there because I knew some Iggles fan was going to come along and say it. It was said purely in jest ...

so CA and now NY...what is the point of removing the top economic centers of our country, again?

The reason people were bringing up Marino and Sanders and such was to counter the argument that winning the SuperBowl was the HoF difference between players.

Obviously, plenty of players deserve the HoF that never win a championship.

Yes and when all stats are just about equal but one has lead his team to the playoffs multiple times and once to the SB, who do you think gets the nod?

Wonder if they will try and through him under the bus like they did the kicker that got it.

After all that's happened with this team in the last few years I'd never would want to play on Tampa.
