Haven't had a Michael Sam mention in a while -- boy, has this dude faded from the limelight recently, and rightfully so for a practice squad player:

Don't see him staying free too long.

Makes sense. With the Cowboys about to get Josh Brent back and Sam not entirely needed, releasing him for a position they could actually use talent in (McClain is ready to snap at any time, as far as I'm concerned). Sam will likely get picked up again, if not this season than during the off season. If he can stay in shape and a team needs a situation pass rusher, he might make the cut.

And NFL confirmed the Keuckly ejection was pure BS. Says he won't be fined and shouldn't have been ejected.

Lol. An official can grab you from behind after a scrum you're trying to get away from and then eject you for moving your arm back to free yourself. Of course, the NFL says that was wrong.

Agreed.

If it was me, I would have done the same thing being all emotional after that play.

Refs need to actually get in front of players to get their attention after fights.

I added a reply to last weeks thread, but on the Harvin trade I'll just add, how BIG of a cancer do you have to be, to have that much on the field talent and STILL get traded?

I mean teams bend over backwards for players if they produce on the field and typically put up with a ton of shit if you are a super star on the field.

Everyone picking the Bills this week - lol.

Fred Jackson out.
CJ Spiller out.
Offensive Line sucking.
At the Jets.

Not gonna happen.

You'd take Buffalo at the Jets, god I hope everyone in my survivor pool does that.

Could be a mistake, although the Jets did lose to the Pat's last week they dominated TOP 40/20, ran the ball well and Buffalo had Spiller AND Jackson injured last week. Although the Jets are 1-6 they've had to face Manning, Rivers, Rodgers, and Brady the last 5 weeks, I think they win at home.

It's not like Geno Smith is lining up opposite those guys, is he?

I'm picking the Jets to win as well. They played well against the Broncos and the Patriots. Of course with Geno, you never know who's going to show up.

I love the Saints this week. The Packers need to come back to Earth at some point, the Saints will be pissed and at home. They will at least cover.

And, I don't want to say it but... the Chargers might pull it out in Denver, crazier things have happened.

but it's the Jet's though...

a team that tied the packers with time running out in green bay, had the ball to tie the broncos on the final possession of that game, a blocked kick away from beating patriots in boston, against a team who has benched their starting QB an will be fielding undrafted free agents and practice squad guys for the backfield.

I have faith in my Raiders! They can do it!!!

I was just putting my thoughts out there for his bet. Would I take Dallas to win or Oakland to lose if $12k were on the line? Dallas. Do I think Oakland will lose? Yes.

You like the Raiders? :hmm:

Hmm, yet another reason for me to hate you.

The other thinking is that 80% of the pool will pick Dallas. If I went Cleveland and then RG3 or McCoy or whoever is behind center pulls a miracle win its game over.

Well they beat Denver in Denver last year, and SD looks stronger this year so far, so I don't think that's much of an outlandish prediction. It should be a good game

Haven't looked at the lines, but upset picks would be Carolina, Cincinnati and Oakland.

Yea, I agree, the old statement from Parcells that "you are what your record says you are" does not always apply, the only loss the Jets didn't play hard in was against San Diego and after watching them dominate the LOS against the Pat's and rush for a whopping 218yds I think they take the Bills down at home.

Hoping my Bolts can knock off the Broncos in Denver. Should be a great game either way though.

Speaking from painful experience, good teams find ways to win those close games while bad teams don't.

against a team who has benched their starting QB
Manuel was benched weeks ago. Orton has improved the team playing around him significantly over Manuel.

an will be fielding undrafted free agents and practice squad guys for the backfield.
Neither Dixon nor Brown were UDFAs or are practice squad guys. IMO, I think Brown was brought in as a potential replacement for Spiller when his contract's up. He'll get a chance to show the Bills what he can do. He looked good in Philly when he got his chances.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Jets won, but if I had to put money on the game, I would say Buffalo wins a close one. Maybe a FG or less. When healthy, their defense is strong enough to keep them in most games when their QB play isn't.

The Bill's front seven is still among the best but I think the Jets are the more desperate team and prevail here in a close, hard-fought physical game.

And Dixon was brought in as potentially Freddie's retirement plan.

To be fair, the Bills probably have the best backfield depth chart in the NFL (on paper at least).
