Unless something dramatic happens like The Iraqi Army just gives up expect hundreds if not thousands of Allied deaths. War is all about killing you know.
I bet you 1000$ you are TOTALLY and COMPLETELY wrong. Why would you think there would be hundreds if not thousands of allied deaths?
Because 16 already die before any Iraqi fires a bullet. For anyone who think this war is gonna be cakewalk, you better think again. There is no certainty in war, there could be hundreds killed, there could be tens of thousands killed in this war....Vietnam and Korea are two good examples. That's why so many AMERICAN are against this war, when the Administration has not given a strong case nor evidence, only speculation of how much Iraqi regime is a threat to the US. That is why many of us prefer a diplomatic solution, and many of us prefer a coalition with UN backing and support from International community to minimize American death.
If you remember in the First Gulf War, more people died from equipment failures than enemy fire. It will be the same this time. Hey, there are chopper crashes whenever troops are moved(training, supply, battle). Your argument is going to be quite futile as it tries to make generalizations based on inaccurate statements. A majority of Americans are NOT against this war and it is a very small minority that think like you did. Stop saying many, when it is only a few.
You also need to check your facts because the Iraqis have been firing missiles, artillery, and bullets for quite a while.
Check my fact? Show me one report saying those missiles and bullets are aiming at American. Other than a few missile landing in Kuwait hitting nothing, there hasn't been anything from Iraqis.
Oh and if you don't think many people think like I do, check out what's going on in San Francisco and around the US today, go out a little.
Equipment failure is unavoidable, but at least with international force, US won't have to do everything alone and won't suffer all of the casualties.
And for those who think this war is gonna be like last one, think again. Unless the entire Iraqi army just surrender like that, this time, US soldiers are looking to fight in the cities where bombing could cause heavy civilian death, to fight in narrow street where tank cannot get through, to fight in places where local Iraqis knows where to hide and where to ambush.
I hope this war is quick with little death, but I just fear that it won't be that way.
