Breaking News: Jesse Jackson Jr. dropped the dime on Blago

HomerJS

Lifer
Looks like way too many people jumped to conclusions about other peoples involvment in this case.

JJJ will probably go to the top of the list for the IL senate seat.

Story

He's probably the best choice too. Very popular in his district and Ill at large. Only thing holding him back is his name.

Haha, now the question is, if he did that, why didn't the others, presuming others knew about Blagofvck selling the seat?

Eh? The only reason he's where he's at is because of his name.

Dude he's 100x smarter and articulate than his thug father whom people unfortunately associate with him.

But without his name, he'd have just been another guy trying to get into politics. He name got him in the door with both the party and the voters.

Even if name gains entry you still have to perform.

Thank you for the link Homer JS.

In related news, Blagojevich is saying that he will take his case directly to the people today or tomorrow. I can't find the earlier yahoo link anymore but I found this one.

Part of the problem is that Fitzgerald, to his credit, is not trying his case in the press, but at this point, a lot of the charges and allegations are swirling, while the evidence, is not well spelled out yet.

So I am waiting to learn more. But I do have some faith in Fitzgerald, he is not in the habit of going off half cocked with dubious evidence, but still, we the public should be governed by innocent until proven guilty, so we should wait for all sides of the story.

Not in "safe" districts or if you have party backing. There are plenty of deadbeat pols - we have one right here in Des Moines - Our House rep - Bozowell. He's pretty much just sat on his ass in Washington and been a "yes" vote for his party.

Oh the irony when compared to GWB. His father may had a dishonest streak, but W has been a disaster in everything he touched and makes his daddy look like an angle in comparison.

But agreed, Cad, Jesse Jackson Jr. is not just like his daddy and seems to be a pretty good guy.

Without daddy's name, GWB never could have entered politics.

So what? Once he was in office, he obvious did the right thing in reporting Blago's attempt to extort bribes from him to the authorities. If he's done a good job of representing his constituants in the rest of his work, what's your problem?

I don't have a problem with him dropping the dime(if that's what really happened). My comments were in response to Zebo's statement.

JJJ went to the federal prosecuters years about about a different incident, not the current one.

Sure. His name let him graduate magna cum laude while getting a BS. His name earned him his masters degree a year early. His name is the only reason he got a doctorate in law. His name did all his work for him for the DNC. His name got him arrested for protesting South African apartheid. His name did his work for the Rainbow Coallition too.

The only reason he's where he's at is because of his name? Clearly the Jackson name propelled his five siblings into where they wanted to be in politics too? But wait, he's the only one. He's clearly where he's at for more than just his name.

By the time everyone gets their money, this will turn out to be a whole lot to do about nothing.

I have this feeling that nothing will come of this, in the end.

Lou Dobbs told me so.

It still raises the same question... If he acted responsibly in reporting Blago's attempt to solicit a bribe, and he's done a good job of representing his constituants in the rest of his work, what's your problem?... Seriously.

And Al Gore's...and Hillary Clinton's.

Hopefully he clears his name. The only thing I really know about JJJ is the public reaming he gave his father for the stupid comments Jesse made about Obama last summer.

BTW winnar, who is Al Gore's famous relative? I've never heard of any so he must not have had very big coattails to ride on.

Is that your ignorance or your stupidity speaking?

Actually it was a pretty valid point.

Politics, like many other things in life, is a "who you know" business. It is not confined to one side of the isle or the other.
