Waste of money if it's true. Whats up with all the free agent money being given out this year?

How many games did Barry play last year? 16M??? WTF

I was hearing that they (Barry + agent) wanted 2 years, but Giants thought that he would stop trying when/if he broke the homerun record. I guess the Giants decided to give him a little more moeny this year than they wanted in order to be able to drop him next year if he doesnt play up to par. This sound right to yalls?

ugh i dont think he's worth 16 million even if he played as good as he did the last half of the season last year. if he plays like he did the first half of the season last year (ie crappy) this year, he wont even be worth 2 million :|

at least they didnt give him a 2 year deal and waste more money on him :)

The guy did league the Majors in OBA last year, which in my view is the most important stat a guy can have.

I'm confused why a lying, cheating adulterer deserves to even look at $16 million while there are thousands of kids in this country that could use that for a better education, food, vaccines, clothing, health care, or a safe street to walk to school on.

When was Bonds an adulterer?

It's not a waste, the crowds they'll draw at Pac Bell Park so they can see history will more than make up for it.

Though I collected his cards while he was a Pirate and had 1/3 the muscle mass (heh, those were the days), today I hate Barry Bonds so very, very much. :|

because its immensely difficult to hit a baseball consistently, nevermind hitting one 400+ ft.

go to a batting cage if you haven't already. go to the the medium/fast cage for kicks.

edit 2: for the record, i am not defending Bonds, but he was an elite player and more or less hof bound before all the controversy and apparently before he did roids.
he might be all of those things that you mention and more...but he is/was with or without roids a hell of a baseball player.

Hell yes. Barry is the most amazing player I have ever seen. He kind of sucks now but at least I'll have a reason to watch baseball for at least one more season.

People will pay to see him potentially break the HR record.... I guess being juiced up is of no concern.
