I don't usually watch much NBA but if Karl Malone follows and also goes to L.A., I'll be watching that Dream Team.

Lakers will be unstoppable whether or not they get malone now. Last season was a joke because Fisher could not D up on ANY other younger guards, hence we were whooped by the likes of Bulls, Warriors, etc. We now have three of the five positions locked down. THere's no way any team can compete.

rich getting richer. 🙁

payton, kobe, shaq and malone, they could probably beat a lot of teams 4 on 5.

Now all the Lakers need is for Pippen to sign up to play for Phil Jackson again...then all 5 positions will be covered.

omg...yes yes yes!!!

i have always thought gp was awesome player and now he's in the LAKERS!!!
i've actually dreamt about this since he was in seattle.

dude we don't need pippen. we're already over the cap and we're lucky enough to be able to fit payton in. devean george has developed into a nice small forward. with rick fox and luke walton on bench, i think the SF position is set. my biggest concern now is a backup center for shaq and no neither madsen nor slava can cut it.

I can see it now....first game of the season....shaqs gunna step on garys foot...break garys pinky toe....reinjuring his own toe...only to fall over on kobe bruising kobe's elbow 😛 all 3 are out for the rest of the season on the bench...

im sure the rest of the nba (including the 2 time World Champion** Spurs) hope that'd happen 🙂

jeez... I guess I won't be watching basketball for a few years. With a team like that, the lakers would have no excuse to not win the finals next year.

Assuming all their egos can co-exist peacefully and function together. That's an impressive lineup, no doubt, but until the season starts no one knows if they can gel together and work together as a team.

Yeah, look at the TrailBlazers. Many people thought they had a super star line up, bu they didn't get into the finals. But I gotta say this IS a pretty darn impressive lineup for th elakers though.

Only time will show how well the egos (Malone as well?) will mesh on the court. Will also wait and see how quickly GP (and Malone?) get the triangle.

Think about it this way, assuming Malone follows, that's 4 all-stars that are used to playing 40+ minutes a game. And while your starters are important, what kind of players are going to want to go there to sit on the bench behind those guys?
