We had our Christmas celebration last night because we are going on vacation starting today. My wife gave me a couple of DVDs, and I gave her a cd. I wanted to play around with my new toys, and thats when I discovered it. Apparently it is now impossible to copy newer dvds. By the same token, its also impossible to play them. What the crap am I talking about, you ask?
I'm talking about the 50 layers of security tape that holds a dvd case closed tighter that a nun's womanhood. Then just for an added layer of protection, the entire mess is shrink wrapped with that clear crap that NASA developed to withstand every tool and cosmic force known to man. Should by some divine miracle you actually manage to find a way around this copy protection scheme, the recording industry has one more ugly little surprise lying in wait: you still have to find a way to get the disk off that little knobby thing without cracking the disk into a zillion pieces.
If the record industry is so hard up for money, here's what I propose. I would gladly pay a couple of extra bucks at the store to get an official record company representative to open dvds for me. I'll be happy to let them in on the "fun".
Thats all.
