I'm sorry but can someone explain to me why ecoterrorists or right-wing terrorists would be suspects? Did I miss something?

I said possibly it was carried out by a right-wing terrorist due to, historically, their incompetence M.O., which is a great-great blessing for the rest of us.

As much as having their collective asses up in the cloud, they still probably rank a couple of notches better in my scumbag list compared to douches from the right like yourself.

Namecalling is the sign of an inferior mind. Foam at the mouth more please.

I agree with Binarycow and nick1985. It is the good that should win out over evil and it is right and proper to believe in the good.

Actually, Moonbeam, it's more like:

I want to live and raise my family in peace and I readily tell all terrorist douches to go in a remote corner and off themselves instead of spreading their hate and ugliness to everyone else.

It appears that the hatred has rubbed off on you already. I hope you didn't spread that same mentality to your crotch fruit.

Obviously this darling of the left must be a rocket scientist in your mind.

Might I also add:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puerto_Rican_Armed_Forces_of_National_Liberation

BTW, do we get to count anarchists as lefties? Those guys know how to party as well!

Plain desperate, you compare ancient movements like Ayers?

Ayers never killed anyone and swore off there lame Propaganda of the Deed.

I would like to see a righty group correct themselves and swear off killing and assassination as reactionary. Not.

Left-Libertarian Anarchists are rowdy kids, they smash a few windows of a starbucks or bank or something and run. Comparing them to militia folks looking to blow stuff up or kill fellow Americans is partisan hackery and a pathetic attempt to justify murderers.

Investigators removed three propane tanks, fireworks, two filled 5-gallon gasoline containers, and two clocks with batteries, electrical wire and other components from the back of the Nissan Pathfinder

Dang, they ruined some guy's Fourth of July barbecue... I hope he sues the police and wins!

For what its worth, it looks like the Pakistani Taliban may be claiming responsibility for the NYC car bomb attempt.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100502/ap_on_re_mi_ea/ml_times_square_car_bomb

I have no idea how accurate that claim is, its often typical for many groups to claim responsibility. And because the cops are tracing the car presumably, some of their evidence could detract from or add credibility to that link.

Thats bullshit. You'd think an international terrorist organisation would have put a bit more effort and knowledge into it.

This is probably to do with those idiots that were pissed off at South Park.

Good thing is they should be easy to catch as they appear to be pretty clueless.

It's a good thing so many terrorists frankly are stupid. So many failed attempts at the last minute.

Sad, though, to see people jump to conclusions with crazy sh*t, but this is P&N and I would expect nothing else!

It's called correlation, the MO fits the pattern of typical-incompetent domestic terrorists.

Always bet in the favor of statistics.

It pisses people in the middle like me off, really smart (or is it devious?) people get themselves elected and fucking us for all we have from the top. Then from the bottom going up, we have incompetent losers like this ahole.

Binarycow may be correct that this time square incident has the mark of incompetence all over it, but why can't we wait for the results of law enforcement officials to complete their investigations before we have 70 dozen conflicting conspiracy theories on this thread?

Somehow a 7% probability maybe greater than a 3% probability, but its hardly anything to bet on.

The article I read said there were a few tanks of gas in the car - if the fireworks ignited the gasoline, the ensuing fire would have cooked off the propane tanks, resulting in 3 big bangs, and (I think) minor fireballs.

There's simply not enough information to make an accurate assessment of what kind of explosion (if any) would have occurred from this "arrangement".

"Propane tank" could be something small like one found in hardware/camping stores to something larger (still common) 20# cylinder found under most consumer gas grills to 100# cylinders used at job sites for various tasks, etc.

All of them in their stock form have some type of safety device to prevent a straight out BLEVE (Boiling Liquid Expanding Vapor Explosion) but if cleverly defeated and with enough heat (fire) surrounding it you could have a powerful detonation with accompanying fireball. Still nowhere near the force the same volumetric space of equal TNT or even ANFO but enough to possibly start secondary fires and blow out lots of windows. (and scare the crap out of a lot of people!)

Saw video of them pulling out the propane tanks out of the SUV, they were gas grill sized propane tanks.

And it was a T-Shirt vendor, a Vietnam Vet, who spotted smoke coming from the SUV and called 911.

Pakistani Taliban claims NYC car bomb

SLAMABAD – Pakistan's Taliban chief promised attacks on major U.S. cities in a video apparently dated early April and released following the weekend's car bomb attempt in New York City, a monitoring group said Monday.

It followed reports of another video in which the group apparently tried to take credit for that attempted strike.

U.S. authorities have played down the potential connection between the Pakistani militant network and the car bomb attempt in New York's Times Square, saying the group does not have the global infrastructure to carry out such a strike. However, the Pakistani Taliban could expand their reach through their alliances with al-Qaida and other groups.

The latest video is about nine minutes long and features Hakimullah Mehsud, the Pakistani Taliban chief, according to IntelCenter, a U.S.-based group that monitors militant media.

Mehsud does not specifically mention New York, but says he is speaking on April 4 of this year, and promises that, "God willing, very soon in some days or a month's time, the Muslim (community) will see the fruits of most successful attacks of our fedayeen in USA."

"Fedayeen" usually refers to suicide bombers, which the car bomb attempt in New York did not involve.

Mehsud also refutes earlier Pakistani and American claims that he died in a U.S. missile strike in January, a belief Pakistani intelligence officials recently revised.

The video follows a second, shorter clip in which the group appears to claim responsibility for the attempted car bomb, according to the SITE Intelligence Group, another monitoring organization.

In the 1 minute, 11 second video allegedly released by the Pakistani Taliban, the militant group says the attack is revenge for the death of its leader, Baitullah Mehsud, and the recent slaying of al-Qaida in Iraq leaders Abu Omar al-Baghdadi and Abu Ayyub al-Masri, who were killed by U.S. and Iraqi troops last month north of Baghdad.

SITE, a U.S.-based terrorist tracking organization, first uncovered the video on YouTube. The tape, which later appeared to have been removed from the website, makes no specific reference to the attack in New York, nor does it mention that the location or that it was a car bomb.

New York City's police commissioner said there's no evidence of a Taliban link to the failed car bomb.

In a copy of the tape provided by SITE, an unidentified voice speaking in Urdu, the primary language in Pakistan, says the group takes "full responsibility for the RECENT ATTACK IN THE USA." The speaker says it comes in response to American "interference and terrorism in Muslim Countries, especially in Pakistan for (the) Lalmasjid operation," a reference to the Pakistani army's 2007 storming of the Red Mosque in Islamabad where militants were holed up inside.

The claim could not be immediately verified. But if it turns out to be genuine, it would be the first time the Pakistani Taliban has struck outside of South Asia. It has no known global infrastructure like al-Qaida. In at least one past instance, the Pakistani Taliban has claimed responsibility for an attack it played no role in.

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs declined to comment on the claim.

The claim came a day after police in New York found a potentially powerful car bomb that apparently began to detonate but did not explode in a smoking sport utility vehicle in Times Square. The vehicle contained three propane tanks, fireworks, two filled 5-gallon gasoline containers, and two clocks with batteries, electrical wire and other components, officials said.

The Pakistani Taliban is one of Pakistan's largest and deadliest militant groups. It has strong links to al-Qaida and is based in the northwest close to the Afghan border. The group has carried out scores of bloody attacks inside Pakistan in recent years, mostly against Pakistani targets, but it has made no secret of its hatred toward the United States.

Last year, its then commander, Baitullah Mehsud, vowed to "amaze everyone in the world" with an attack on Washington or even the White House. But Mehsud also reportedly said his men were behind a mass shooting at the American Civic Association in Binghamton in April 2009. That claim turned out to be false.

How many terrorist attacks on our soil does this make under Obama's watch? 4? 5?

Muslim attack on army recruitment center
Muslim Fort Hood shooter
Muslim Christmas bomber
Muslim Times Square bomb
Muslim plot to blow up NY subway
Some other Muslim bomb plot

I think there is one more but there are so many it's hard to keep track.

We're fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them over here, no?

Mission Accomplished.

It's the nature of self hate that people acting out of self hate fuck it up because they hate themselves for everything. It happens all the time that some thief, a person who hates himself so much he is convinced that he can't actually earn a living honestly, will leave his wallet at the scene of the crime. It doesn't just happen to folk who are undeserving winners like Clinton why had to fuck himself in the ass with an intern because he couldn't live with his otherwise remarkable success. Folk, whether winners of losers are not going to allow themselves to feel what they really feel.
