He is an American Citizen. Oh yeah, I forgot you want every right stripped from you.

Yes, if that's the case Hats off to you Mr. Obama.

We want rights stripped from Islamic terrorists. They are not American, that they are breathing should be a courtesy.

I also note the suspect is a naturalized US citizen, but if it can be proved he lied in his application, is it possible to then revoke his citizenship? I am not up enough on this legal subject to know for sure.

Revocation is simple, you execute him for treason.

Thats bullshit. You'd think an international terrorist organisation would have put a bit more effort and knowledge into it.

This is probably to do with those idiots that were pissed off at South Park.

Good thing is they should be easy to catch as they appear to be pretty clueless

yup you called it.

Not sure why people thought this would be right or left wing domestic terrorists. Ecoterrorists target places like hummer dealerships. Right wing terrorists target places like gov. buildings and abortion clinics.

Who targets NYC landmarks? Muslims.

Pakistani officials make another arrest. Wonder if this guy was a tea party member as well upset over obamacare? Or as Obama and his admin like to say about terrorist attacks - "This was an isolated incident not connected to muslim terrorists."

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/05/04/pakistani-american-arrested-times-square-plot/

A man has been arrested in Karachi in connection with the investigation of the Times Square bombing attempt, Pakistani intelligence sources told Fox News.

The capture comes after the arrest of a Pakistani-born U.S. citizen, who was minutes away from fleeing the U.S. when his Dubai-bound flight was returned to its gate at New York's Kennedy Airport and U.S. officials escorted him from the plane, along with two other men.

The suspect, Faisal Shahzad, will appear in court Tuesday to face charges that he tried to set off a massive fireball and kill Americans after parking his car on a street lined with restaurants and Broadway theaters, federal authorities said.

I am glad that we have people in Pakistan working with us. Granted, I'm not so certain they wouldn't have wanted to throw these two on the hook just for being such an embarrassment.

I'm leaning towards home-grown instead of islamic.

This is going to turn out to be nothing. Some guy probably was an idiot with oily rags in his car.

HA! this has low-rate, tea-bagger written all over it!!

NEWS FLASH: Right-wing militia survivalist's car ignites with dangerous weekend Pow-wow supplies inside. Is New York or anywhere else safe when bungling amateur soldiers get together for Sunday barbecue?

I'd bet this person is white, red neck, no real or current party affiliation. Only watches fox and listens to Rush/Palin daily. Convinced his little world is threatened by everything imaginable. Talks about missing "the good old days", but can not define what the good old days were, exactly. No facebook friends. Turns his house lights out on halloween to avoid trick r treaters. Would never own a cell phone. Still uses dial-up ISP. Still runs a pc using windows ME. Member of several online porn sites. Never dates fearing AIDs. Sneaks money out of the "save the children" box. Into heavy metal music. Lived at home until kicked out by his parents. Could not hold his job at McDonalds as a teen.

The ownage is strong in this thread.

The religion of peace at it again.

We know ever so much more than we did 24 hours ago, we have an arrested suspect, a name, and a large number of new hard facts. Mainly routine police work details about how the suspect was caught, partly showing he was not exactly the sharpest knife in the criminal mastermind drawer.

But oh no, some Anand tech posters can't be content with that and still speculate in every imaginable direction. Some even saying the same things as before when new evidence makes those previous positions look even more unlikely than before.

aren't the police free to question a suspect until they actually ask for a lawyer?

You are. Any US citizen can CHOOSE to talk without a lawyer. But no one can FORCE a US citizen to talk without a lawyer, which is what you imply. And you can't torture either, so don't bother mentioning that either.

To quote a whinyaerialswine, everyone knows this.

Incorrect.

Might want to read up on todays news before you post incorrect information.

He was interrogated and only after the interrogation was complete was he read his miranda rights and granted access to an attorney.

I guess you answered the question of who is the real idiot here.

We all like to jump the gun, some worse than others. Take those Liberals above going on about the Tea Party for example.

Yes, at least that's my understanding too.

I'm also under the impression the police can ask all the questions they want before Mirandizing the suspect, it's just that what they learn may not be admissible in court. Of course, in this situation I doubt that's a concern; it seems they have plenty of evidence for a conviction anyway.

Your quote is not substantiated in the source. You made that shit up.

"US-based SITE intelligence group says Pakistani Taliban released video claiming failed Times Square attack revenge for death of its leader Baitullah Mehsud and recent killings of top Qaeda leaders in Iraq. Bloomberg: We avoided what could have been a very deadly event "

Real Americans don't accuse the most pro-American foreign state on the planet of *gasp* conspiring against their most important ally.

Are you done scapegoating Israel you antisemitic fuck?

lol. the shock value of your false antisemite labeling is wearing thin you flea-bitten twit. save your antisemite card for a rainy day you reptilian sack of pig ****. **** you. we now know that Revolution Muslim is a front and that SITE is run by daughter of a dead Israeli spy. Not every American is as dumb as you hope them to be.

people can think for themselves. Not everyone forgot about the Lavon Affair or the USS Liberty so **** you.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lavon_Affair

any country that gets 3+ billion a year in aid and over 12+ billion in military aid will obviously stay an ally as long as possible. idiot
