not a bad ep last night.

really want to see what they do with next ep based off the preview, as i figured that would happen
what was in the preview? I don't think they don't show the preview on Amazon VOD. If they do I missed it.

Pretty sure he's referring to
the scene where someone tells Hank about Gale's lab note book being associated with the blue meth production.
Hank was always my favorite character until he was attacked, I was really hoping something like this happened to get him back to the old Hank again, so we'll see.

Also, the voice was clearly Gus. He knows Walt's cell number, he formally calls him "Walter" on the phone, and he's in viewing distance of his house when he gets the call, not to mention it sounded like him too.

yes thats what i was referring to figure it will make him man up and get with the rehab and whatnot
IMO 2 things happen, either hank figures out walter is Heisenberg, and walt then makes a deal for gus or walt kills gus and simply takes over

I think Walt really fucked up talking to Mike, not sure where that's gonna go.

Sewing the seeds, Walt needs Mike to get to Gus and he struck while the iron was hot. Mike saw what happened to Victor and he knows that Gus would do the same thing to him in a heartbeat. The beatdown that Mike laid on Walt was not necessarily a "get the fuck out of here" message, it could have been just covering his own ass in case he was being watched. Mike is a savvy guy and he's a survivor, he could ponder things and decide that he's got a better future with Walt than with Gus. Ultimately, I think he's the key to the entire season. We know that Walt and Gus can't live and let live, either Walt kills Gus and takes over or Gus finds a new cook and kills Walt. Those are the only two possible outcomes and it's a safe bet that the show is not going to whack Walt. So Mike is almost sure to switch sides later this season.

Episode 2:

Plot-
-Walter gets a new gun that is immediately detected, then whines to hitman about still wanting to "talk" with Gus.

-Kid has a party and is depressed

-Walt's wife fails to buy carwash

Hell of a plot!

I think Mike and Gus have a stronger relationship than we know. Remember late in season 3 when he took out those cartel goons, then later they talked about it in private and it sounded like he did that sort of thing a lot for Gus. Makes me think they're in close business together and Gus wouldn't off someone who helps take care of the compitition like that. Also, he has kids/grandkids that they made it clear he loves dearly, I think if he crossed Gus and missed killing him his family might be put at risk. Victor was expendable, Saul is expendable, but Mike is obviously joined at the hip with Gus.

I wish everybodys posts were this concise. I like bullet points!

I don't think it's quite that secure. When Gus whacked Victor Mike drew down on him, he was genuinely afraid for his own life. That's the whole point of showing him sitting in a bar drinking alone in the middle of the day, he's worried.

For someone who doesn't like the show, you summarized quite nicely. Thanks for your efforts.

Good start to the season. Last season started off slow so I'm glad to see how exciting this is going already.

One thing I've noticed though, and I don't know if anybody else sees stuff like this but the product placement is getting a little ridiculous. We've known what car Walt drives for a while so none of that is a surprise anymore, but there's more. Hank sets his laptop down ever so perfectly to make sure we see it's a Vaio. When Jesse and Walt are at the diner, the shot is angled just so you can see the Dennys sign between them out the window. Angled shot to see Gale's phone ringing... then a zoom in to see it's a Samsung. I don't know if it's really paid-for product placement, but some of the angles seem fairly odd and the logos are quite apparent. Not really a problem, but something I notice.

You missed the more obvious one...Venezia's Pizza! Probably because you're not a local. 😉 Here's a spoiler...
they always slice their pizza! ^_^
Those they showed are their 24" party pizzas for ~$25...very good stuff imo. Even better when there were restaurant.com coupons...save $25 off of a $35 purchase and pay only $2 for the coupon, ie get a 24" pizza for $12+tax.

Yep, weak sauce. The episode was about 5-10 minutes of television stretched into about 44 minutes, way too slow even in local lethargic Albuquerque time.

Btw,
any chance that Mike owns Gus and not the other way around? Mike's beatdown of Walt in defense of Gus for some reason stood out. Mike also told Walt that he wasn't going to see Gus again (iirc.)

I highly doubt it. Why would Mike do any wet work or install bugs and stuff in season three?

Exactly this. The Mike/Gus relationship is an interesting dynamic because we know so little about them yet they hold all the cards. Does Mike "work" for anyone else? Has Saul been part of their operation for a while now? Is there someone Gus answers to? I ask that last one because if you remember when Saul introduced Walt to Gus he said "he knows a guy who knows a guy... who knows another guy" which could just be fluff to let Walt know he's simply a go-between or he knows Mike who knows Gus who knows someone else that relies on Los Pollos to bring in money and is really the one calling all the shots (the new guy, perhaps?) I'm also starting to think Mike and Gus have been business partners for a while now and perhaps started out like Walt and Jesse, maybe growing/selling weed at first.

you know Gus has been in the biz for a while because in the flashback to when the Twins were kids the old dude is on the phone and hes talking about Gus with someone saying "South Americans can not be trusted"

It's amazing that the troll continues to watch the show he hates so much. Maybe it can make its own thread and whine in there.

Also it would be nice of people to stop quoting the troll because then I end up accidentally reading the posts.

ZERO chance, none at all. The show has made it completely clear that Gus is the head honcho on this side of the border. Gus might trust Mike to handle his most special projects, but that's as far as it goes. Mike works for Gus. For now at least.

I gave up and added him to my ignore list.
