Wow, how Gus doesn't cut Jesse to shreds and just force Walt to cook under threat of death for him and his family is beyond me. There's something we're missing here if he's batty enough to kill his most loyal soldier, will be interesting to see where this goes.

I do hope that Hank gets better and loses the sour puss though, the show just isn't the same without him and Gomez insulting each other.

Because this was discussion about the series itself too. If the original title warned of spoilers inside then it's one thing, but this just was an announcement of the new season starting up again. Not everybody gets to watch the show as it airs but still want to talk about the show. There's little point in bumping an old Breaking Bad thread to talk about the show when this is here, so don't think it's just limited to the one episode.

In short... the spoiler button is easy to use. Just please use it from now on, and if you forget just fix it and apologize. Don't try to justify why you didn't use them because there's no excuse.

Jeezus, it's felt like 2 years since the crazy end of that last season. Can't wait to see Heisenberg kicking some ass again. Metacritic already has 9 critic review scores set for an average of 96/100, which is insane for a site like that with their scoring system. Also heard that Vince Gilligan is saying the next season might be its last, but that's not set in stone, especially if this season averages over 2 million viewers per episode which I think it will.

He was there... he was seen. He was a loose end. As soon as he said he'd been seen I figured he'd be gone. Didn't expect Gus to do it himself though. Apparently Gus needed to prove a point to Walt and Jesse... He's not afraid to get his hands dirty and he will do whatever it takes to ensure his operation continues under the radar.

It's going to be interesting to see what happens to Saul too. Looks like he's outta there.

Also VERY interesting that Gail's notebook was left in his apartment. Soooo many avenues open right now.

What a great way to open S4. Grab you by the balls and squeeze. Awesome opener.

im glad this show is back on, really enjoyed the episode and seems to be off to a great start so far! that last scene with jessie and walt in the restaurant, made me feel that the old jessie is back with his remarks. i hope so too, his depressing act was getting tiresome.

Gus killed the errand boy because he was seen at the scene of the crime, and he chose to do it so violently in front of Walt/Jessie to prove a point that while he is a businessman he has no problems getting his hands dirty.

Walt/Jessie are on borrowed time at the moment. As soon as Gus can find a replacement they are both dead, there is nothing stopping Gus from threatening the lives of Walt/Jessie's families in order to get the recipe down pat and in the hands of another chemist.

The next move will have to involve the takedown of Gus if they are to survive and that is what this season will revolve around IMHO.

Jesse definitely isn't back - he's got that thousand yard stare going on. In a few hours he's killed a innocent man for the first time, witnessed a bloody murder, and cleaned up a body.

Saw that coming all the way, the second the guy said he was seen. Also thought maybe Gus wasn't too happy that the guy had the audacity to think he could cook.

Was the henchman actually cooking it correctly though? Jesse was able to cook by himself successfully last season. When Walt was belittling the henchman, it sounded like a desperate attempt to confuse him with concepts he obviously knows nothing about more than anything else. I suspect the formula/process (which the guy knew) is all you really need.

I wasn't all that suprised when the "suprise" was suppose to happen. It seemed too obvious. The long drawn out time Gus took as he was getting ready for the "suprise" seemed wasted since you knew what was going to happen. Usually the writers hide it pretty well.

Yup, I noticed that one too. I can only imagine all kinds of incriminating evidence is going to be contained in that notebook, which will ultimately point the police in the direction of Gus.

I'm sure everyone who watched till the very end saw it. Could lead to something big, but the way this show goes I wouldn't be surprised if it's just a suspense builder that goes nowhere.

It seems pretty clear that before this season is over Walt is going to off Gus and own the cartel. As the police start narrowing in on Walt being Heisenburg they discover the contents of the folder and lay Gail out to be the master cook (Heisenburg) letting Walt off scott free for season 5.

But that's just a guess.
