Skipping breakfast to lose weight usually backfires because you end up nibbling at stuff the whole morning instead.

Well I'm not saying that I skip breakfast specifically to lose weight, just that it usually happens because I wake up and have to go to class (though sometimes I do try to have a small bowl of cereal or something). I try to keep very little "nibbling" food around me anyway...that's what really gets you in trouble :p

Anyone agree with me that McDonald's breakfast is better than their normal day food?

I love their breakfast food.

Maybe because you're eating total crap for breakfast? I'm perfectly content with a protein shake + PB sandwich or some eggs + juice or oatmeal + fruit for breakfast.

I completely agree, I prefer pizza, shawarma, roasted chicken, turkey, any kind of food over the stupid break fast food. It’s gross unless when you are high

Oh well this is a dead forum .

I love breakfast food, but I really like breakfast for dinner. If I eat something like waffles for breakfast, I'm just gonna be tired all day. But breakfast food is awesome! And it's not a food thread until I bless it with a recipe, right? :D

Kaido's Famous Pancake recipe: (recipe looks deceptive because there's only 4 ingredients, but I challenge you to find better pancakes!)
  • 2 cups Bisquick (sold in the baking aisle, usually in a yellow box...it's a pre-mixed baking mix)
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 1/2 cup Milk (I use whole milk, but it doesn't really matter)
  • 2 eggs
Simply mix until combined. Don't overstir; note that it will be a pretty thick batter. I use a nonstick pan & Pam to cook it over medium heat. You'll have to figure out the exact best heat notch for your equipment setup, but just cook until brown to your liking on the bottom & then flip until finished on the other side. I usually dollop it out using a 1/4-cup measuring cup. You can add chocolate chips or whatever you like, but imo it's perfect with just syrup (real or fake, to your preference) & nothing else. Took many years of recipe testing to settle down on this one! I'm about 2 years into my waffle search; I think I'm 95% of the way there, but haven't found "the one" yet. But at least I've got pancakes nailed down! :D

Breakfast food is great when consumed in a grubby diner at 2am after a night of drinking. A couple of eggs over easy, bacon, sausage, hash browns and buttered toast is the perfect greasy belly-bomb to soak up the alcohol. And waffles are great 24/7. The food isn't the problem, it's that you have to get up early to consume it for breakfast and I'd rather get the extra sleep. Eat it at a civilized hour and it's really enjoyable.

The problem with traditional breakfast (eggs, hashbrowns, choice of meat) is there all terrible for your health. The "average" breakfast has almost the recommended amount of saturated fat for a day. (16 grams)

4 grams for 2 eggs
3.3 grams for 3 slice bacon
7 grams per serving of hash browns
Plus however many grams with toast and coffee
