Brazil To Sue The Simpsons Over Recent (Hilarious) Episode

You can't make this stuff up folks.

I thought the episode about Brazil was great, probably the best I've seen in years. Besides, everything I saw on there was pretty consistent with what I've seen and heard about Brazil from friends, TV, travel brochures, etc.

"What really hurt was the idea of the monkeys, the image that Rio de Janeiro was a jungle. It's a completely unreal image of the city."

Some people need to lighten the fsck up

how lame. i like this quote police portrayed as lazy and unhelpful, and slums as dirty and dangerous. ummm rio has a lot of slums that are dangerous. Where is that guy from Sao Paulo...he'll tell ya.

besides that it was supposed to be FUNNY. i'm sure if you really want to go to rio you aren't going to base your knowledge of the city on a Simpsons episode.

If that isn't frivolous I don't know what is. Shouldn't they be putting the money and effort here into countering drugs or something?

You don't know how many people I've said that to on this message board (including the moderators).

Does this mean that the US can sue for every single episode because the Simpson family pokes fun at the average American family?

"The episode also saw Bart swallowed by boa constrictor, police portrayed as lazy and unhelpful, and slums as dirty and dangerous."
Sounds like Miami, to me. Oh, oh, with this city's residents all too lawsuit happy, I'd better duck for cover.

<< Riotur said producers could donate profits from the episode to help Rio's orphans if they were concerned. >>

😀 Haha! The perfect quote.

<< next week's episode: The Simpsons are goin to Court! >>

LOL

Yeah, this is lame. I hate stupid lawsuits.

A) Lazy unhelpful cops? What about Chief Wiggum? They're not singling out Brazilian cops here.

B)They could at least get the story right....the DOOR saved the kid from the monkeys, NOT the shoes.
Duh.

I didn't see the Brazil episode but the one where they go to Japan was hilarious. They must have had some serious Japanophiles on the staff there because they had some pretty accurate idiosynchrocies of Japanese society.

<< Anybody up for a trip to Rio? >>

I'm going there for two weeks in July - woohoo! Too bad it is their winter, but it should still be pretty temperate.

<----Truthfully Jealous. although i would want to go to Sau Paulo too...

Actually I am flying into Sao Paolo, then travelling to a couple of other places (one is a ritzy resort, the other a nature preserve right on the Amazon), then flying out of Rio. Should be a good time.

<< police portrayed as lazy and unhelpful, and slums as dirty and dangerous >>

Aren't all slums dirty and dangerous? Isn't that what makes them slums?

.... oh man you're sense of reality is based of that asinine show friends, no wonder you're dumb.
