Braun high-end shavers

Anyone had any experience with the high-end Braun shavers with the docking station? E.g. Braun 8985

I'm pro-environment, so I don't like the idea of having to continuously buy and throw out those cleansing cartridges.

I have a cheaper one without the Clean and Renew system (or whatever it's called), and you can just wash it under water. I assume you can do the same with the more expensive ones, but I'm not sure.

By the way, I assume you know, but if not, you can get a 50 gift certificate if you spend $129 on select Braun or Oral B products. I think that's one of them. Text

Love my 8595.

Just use the brush included in its case then. 😉

I have that exact shaver you linked. I've had it for about a year and I absolutely love it. It gives me a clean, smooth shave and I never have to clean it. It automatically determines how much cleaning it needs, and all you have to do is put the shaver back into the cradle-thing, and press a button and it will clean it. The chemical cleaning cartridges can be a bit expensive. I think they're $10 for 2 or $15 for 3. I think I've replaced mine 5 times this year.

i started out using one or those...it sucked because those thing can't really grasp and cut the hairs i used to have to go over the same spots like 3 times...using a regular shaving razor is sooooooooo much better than any electrical shaver... well anyways if you want an electrical shaver i recommend using any of these kindslinky

I used to use the Braun electric shavers from the early 90s, but found that using a razor (especially Mach 3 and the latest version) to be a lot better.

i still say the razor is the best and most painless way to go

I have one of the first models that had the cleaning stand. Still works great.

I have no pain with by braun. I prefer it over a razor just because it's faster and I don't have to stand over a sink to shave.

I'm going to have to agree with you. Electric Razors just chew on your face and accomplish nothing. If you are patient a normal razor will do a better job with the least pain.

I have a 7526 and love it, gets amazingly close and doesn't hurt my face at all. I also like never having to open it up and clean it manually. I don't shave every day so I can get away with using one cartridge for two months, so we're talking about $10 every four months for those, not too bad.

I used to have on of those fancy expensive electrics. Nothing gets a smoother, faster, "cleaner" shave than a Mach 3.
