I've owned 2 Mustang GTs, an '86 Convertible and a '94 GT coupe (red of course). Both cars were 5 spd manual transmission cars, they were great fun and very reliable.

I may have to rethink my plans on buying a new Tundra Double Cab and pick up an '05 GT convertible instead.

One of the things I like about the current stangs is the pull out headlight switch which is retro and they went back to the crappy turn switch and separate dimmer on the new one? bleh.

I guess I could live with that

A short wheelbase car would be very agile and nimble going around a tight parking lot course, but not as helpful for 120mph bends around Nurburgring.

The Mustang was never meant to be an autocrosser.

side bolsters can't be made to fit fat americans.

hell, my car comes with some huge side bolsters and i can't fit in them. i'm not exactly fat either (6', 170 lbs, 33" waist), the damn thing was just made for someone 5'8" and 140lbs

I would call the Mustang a sporty car but not a sports car...just my opinion anyways. A sports car to me can't be more than a two-seater. This doesn't imply that all 2-seater cars are sports cars; only that a true sports car can't have more than two seats. I consider a Corvette or Viper a sports car. Something like the WRX or Mustang would be a "sporty" car...to me at least.

there should be a blanket on that line and nobody should be where the line can reach if it were to break at any point. use pullys if direction change is nessisary

I don't see why a sports car has to have 2 seats. Somehow, putting 2 little seats in the back magically makes a vehicle no longer a sports car? What if you take the back seats out of a Mustang? Then is it a sports car?

If the car has more than 2 seats then NO it's not a sports car...in my opinion anyways. I've got several requirements before I place a certain car into the "sports car" group.

1. It needs to have somewhat decent speed/acceleration (0-60mph in less than 6 secs; 1/4 mile in under 14 secs)
2. No more than 2 seats
3. It needs to have the "look" of a sports car. This is the hardest one to gauge...one person can say a car looks like a sports car while another person can say it doesn't

The regular Mustang only meets the last requirement IMO. The Mach 1 and Cobra versions meet the first requirement. Now if Ford redesigned the Mustang as a 2-seater and still kept requirements number 1 and 3, then YES I would consider the Mustang a sports car.
