OK, this is what I'm doing with this. Bought it yesterday at CC for 999.99 + tax. CompUSA shows it on their
Website for $899.99 I bought it with AmEx Blue so I'll pricematch the CompUSA site and save $100. There are also the two $100 rebates. This should bring the total to 699.99 + tax after rebates and pricematch.
Now as far as the quality. It is what I expect for a sub $1000 notebook. Will it run the new killer games? Probably not. Can I surf the web, write papers, work on code for school, or watch DVD's while travelling? Absolutely.
I've seen better displays and the construction leaves a lot to be desired. But the celeron + 256mb ram run fine for me. This is my first notebook and I'd rather buy a Dell or IBM with Pentium but I also was not ready to spend another $700 - $1000.
So yes, this was a pretty hot deal if you had < $1000 to spend, or in my case < $700 + tax.
