I have a i5 2500k, GSkill 8gb RAM, Seagate HDD 1 TB 7200RPM running Win7 64. It's been built for a week and been working fine. However today, I noticed considerable lag just browsing web. I only have 2 tabs on Firefox open. One of them is YouTube and the sounds started lagging if I use the other tab to browse and web. Then I also notice the mouse cursor lagging as well. Same thing with Chrome. Using RealTemp, my temp running between 27C-30C.

Thanks for the help.

You havent downloaded anything new, have you? Even just simple add ons can have a severe lag in your computer. It could have been your internet connection while streaming as well. What kind of internet do you have?

You have laggy internet and the first thing you think might be the problem is hardware? Have you ruled out laggy internet as the problem?

^ The temperature when your processor is busy doing work (loaded).

Mouse lag does suggest a local software-related issue.

I'd rule out software-related issues before I worried about hardware.

When your computer is lagging, open up the task manager (ctrl+shift+esc) and go to Performance. Watch your CPU and memory usage. If they're spiking beyond the levels that you think they should be, check the processes tab and see if there are any processes eating up abnormally large amounts of CPU and / or memory. That could give you a starting point to work from.

Also, what jbt52 said.
