Brand new build, stuck in reboot loop. PLEASE help

Just build a brand new computer.
i7 6700k
Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 7
2x8gb Averxir DDR4
GTX 760
EVGA 650 GS
Corsair h115i

So when I started the computer for the first time, it seemed to boot up just fine but then it gets stuck in a loop where it shuts down and then restarts. Everything seems to be starting up just fine. The mother board reads the number "55" I believe it is. Incredibly frustrated and drained, I spent all day building this thing, literally.

Have no idea what to do...

When installing the Corsair h115i, there is a massive (obvious) plastic casing. Beyond that... there is no more plastic to peel off or w/e right? Its already got thermal paste on it correct?

That indicates a memory error.

Take all ram out, and only try one stick.

What is the part number of the ram? Have you set it to run in XMP mode?

You might need to update the BIOS because Gigabyte has released several updates that improve XMP stability and ram compatibility on their boards.

Update: Upon further review it looks like "55" is a memory error. I purchased 8GBx2 DDR4-2400 C16 1.2V and its compatible with my mobo. I made sure it was installed correctly. I even took the memory completely out of the mobo and still got a "55" error. Why would it read mem error if there was no memory in it. Damn it I have no idea what to do.

I can go try 1 stick of ram real quick but I only expect the same, I took all memory out and same error.

The ram is AVD4UZ124001608G-2COR

I have no idea what XMP mode is. When I try to start the computer nothing happens and I can't get into the bios. How would I be able to update the bios on the MOBO if I can't get into anything.. Like on my monitor it doesn't even have time to have anything show up.

Okay so I have one stick in slot 3 and initially it kept bringing up a ton of different error codes (about 10) before it rebooted. Upon next reboot I got into the bios! Thats one step in the right direction I suppose.

Anyone know what I can do from here within the BIOS?

The first thing to do is to see what BIOS version you installed, and see if there is an update from Gigabyte.

I have a different Gigabyte z170 board, and the last two updates for it were to fix XMP issues and ram compatibility.

Here are the BIOS updates for your motherboard. They have three beta BIOS listed; All address RAM compatbility.

The RAM you selected is not on their QVL (qualified vendor list), so there is always a chance of having issues of using ram they haven't tested with the board.

I am fine with downloading drivers, but how does one update their BIOS? Is it something you do within the BIOS or can I just DL the latest BIOS onto a USB and install it like software from within the operating system?

You do it within the BIOS after downloading the file and usually unzipping it, or download a program to do it within Windows.

If you have never done it before, you really should read and EXACTLY follow the directions in your manual on updating the BIOS. Improperly flashing the BIOS with the incorrect version is very, very bad.

this is why you always check the ram compatibility list of the mobo, before buying the ram.

What the hell is Averxir? no wonder you have memory errors.

For the record, my two Skylake rigs, with G4400 CPUs, and ASRock Z170 Pro4S ATX mobos, each have an 8GB (2x4GB) kit of Avexir DDR4-2400 CAS15 1.2V memory, the ones with the light-up tube along the top edge that "breathes" while operating. I got the blue-colored ones.

Hasn't given me any trouble, and I've had them overclocked from 2400 to 2600 on my rig, when I was overclocking. I may have bumped up the VDIMM to 1.25V at that point. I do know that they will do 2500 with slightly relaxed (auto-done by BIOS) timings.
