I have a Chevy Silverado and need brake pads for the rear only, but would like to get all four wheels anyway. It is a 2004 extended cab (1500) with four wheel disc brakes and with only 65000 miles. I went to Advanced Auto and they quoted "Wearever Platinum" (ceramic) for $49.99. Never heard of this make. Would like to get as many suggestions as I can as long as I can keep the price within reason (not more than a new truck). Checked on line and I'm more confused then ever with so many options and makes. Going to a Chevy dealer is out of the question. I got a Nissan mechanic willing to help install. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I know a person that works for brake manufacturer. He works for wagner. We just had a conversation about this 2 weeks ago. He told me that most of the brakes now are chinese made and the quality has gone down significantly. The complaint and returns are really bad. Basically the cheaper the pads are the faster the wear. The one you mention for 49.99 might give you 2 years of wear. Is there a warranty on your pads? If lifetime then you don't have to worry about it. The funny thing about lifetime warranty is they don't last very long. I have an autozone lifetime warranty that cost 15$ and every year I have to replace it.

Wearever are good pads for the price.

Just buy the best you can afford from Autozone/etc - make sure to check the rotors and replace as needed. grease all contact areas (Caliper slides, pins/back of pads) with quality disc brake grease - you will be fine.
