Brake pads, rotors, and tires for 2000 Honda Accord?

No spirited driving here - my car is as boring as it gets. 2000 Honda Accord SE, 4 cylinder, automagic slushbox. New brakepads are due.

Shall I go OEM, or shall I use something else? Also, where should I purchase them?

Advanced Auto Parts or Auto Zone

get Bendex pads or some knock off if you don't really race or do lots of stop and go over and over.

Replace the brake fluid to DOT 4 instead of DOT 3 and you should be fine as long as you don't race/auto cross the car

If you need them this week then go to advance or AZ and see if they have their Gold series pads.

Also the Wagner thermoquiet pads are good as well but cost a little more at advance.

plz do yourself a favor and get anything other than the OEM pads. i dont know about the 6th generation accords but the 7th gen oem pads are crap. i can't wait till mine wear out so i can get some nice hawks or akebonos. check tire rack for good prices on them

Hawk Performance HPS pads, best street pad i have tried and ive tried most performance street pads out there. Also if you need new rotors brebo is a good brand that wont warp on you no matter what, ive got mine red hot a few times.

Get a good pair of ceramics for the front and good-quality metallics for the back and call it good.

Go OEM. You'll put on what the Honda engineers chose.

honda cheaped out on the 03-07 brakes. used often and they will warp your rotors.

Turns out I will need new rotors, too. Where should I buy this stuff? What kind of Brembo rotors should I get? Is purchasing online a good or bad option?

for my accord i got Hawk HPS brake pads. they're much better than any stock pads in a family sedans and do not squeal. stopping power is excellent.

u can get brembo OE rotors for cheap.

get both at tirerack.com

Are the Hawk HPS's smooth and quiet? There will be no spirited driving here. It's a boring 4 cylinder slushbox with pretty much nothing going for it... The TireRack.com site gives me the following disclaimer: "Vehicles using high performance brake pad compounds may experience greater levels of brake pad dust and noise." Should I be concerned?

the HPS pads are very quiet and dont produce alot of dust, they are really great pads, they also last a long time. I ordered mine online with the brembo blanks and installed them myself, its easy took me like 20 min per side.

You just need the cheaper OEM parts then.

You answered your own question.

Well hell. I might as well get new tires too. Any recommendations?

LOL sorry for making a never ending shopping list of questions 😛

okay so go w/ the Hawk HPS and brembo OE rotors..

are you getting new tires to mount onto your stock rims? or getting a new Rim/tire combo?
