OEM or whatever is cheapest

Honestly, unless you're on a track, it shouldn't matter

Don't get slotted or drilled rotors, they won't last as long

Get plain simple stuff
Slotted rotors are just are durable as plain rotors.

I agree. Project Volvo came with slotted rotors from the factory. I'm upgrading to the crossdrilled instead of slotted, but I think getting both crossdrilled and slotted is just for looks. Also trying to decide between EBC Greenstuffs, PBR MetalMasters or Deluxes, or some carbon fiber type pads. Probably going to end up spending $550 on the brake parts alone.

EBC has vented rotors that are both slotted and dimpled. The dimples would probably resist cracking a lot better than holes.

Rotors are $10 cheaper here, and they have PBR/Axxis Metal Masters for $34.

importrp ImportRP has the best customer service out of all the interenet places/warehouses I order from.

what vehicle year/make etc are these for?

The Hawk HPS pads are nice pads, good for light autox/light track[with a light car]. The HP are even better, but have more dust and noise. Porterfield makes good pads, the R4S. But for street use and daily driving, the PBR/Axxis pads are great. My uncle put EBC greens on his E46 bmw, and they warped his rotors is about 6 months of normal driving (though I now think it was just uneven pad to rotor deposits). He currently is running real Brembo sport cross drilled (not the 3rd parts drilled ones) and PBR metal masters; likes em, though a lil more dust than he likes, less than oem however. Gonna try PBR ultimates (ceramics) next time.

wow the rotors on my Chevy van are the original ones, and it has 275,000 miles.

no kidding.

If your getting a shutter and mainly at higher speeds its not your pads but your rotors are warped. It could also mean other problems like loos tie rods or a bad rack. But a shutter is not your pads. Send me a pm and I will ask you more questions on your driving style and when this happends and I can try to narrow it down further for you if you like to.

HEy! Hawks and Brembo blanks are not a good combo. The do stop very well once they heat up, but stopping at low speeds will sometimes cause a graoning like a dumptruck. Hawks also dust a lot. get axxis metal masters. They stop better than oem but aren't full out track pads.
