Brake Pad preferences?

100k is doable with either tons of hwy miles or an MT. Brakes do seem to last longer with them.

At just under 80k on the original factory pads, something like 1/3rd of the pad meat left last time I eyeballed it (when I swapped the winter tires on last fall.)

Basically 90% highway.
 
All major brands make different pad formulations suitable for different street use requirements. Consider your use, but brand not so much.

Remember that great biting pads are not a substitute for an upgraded brake system if you want good lifespan.

In the case of the Grand Cherokee, two factors are what is the tow rating (which can about double with different configurations) and are you even going to tow much with it? If you're not towing much, I'd get ceramic pads just to save the rotors, and reduce filthy wheel dust. If you are towing much, get severe duty.
