Brain Tumor

RU482

If a person has a brain tumor, do the cells that make up the tumor serve any neurologic function, or are they just excess cells?

But what if a human has a mutant gene that would enable him to survive a brain tumor, AND benefit from said tumor? He'll be like super smrt! Big-headed, but smrt!

Didn't you see "Phenomenon" ????

Tumors are "immortal" (no programmed cell death) aggrigations of cells that have no function at all. They grow and take the place of cells that have function, and kill you 🙁 . AFAK

I think it was Dateline or 60 minutes or something like that where they did a piece on a man who had developed some type of nuerological/brain tumor thing (I think it might have been Parkinsons related.) It instantly gave him the ability to write music, play the piano, write symphonies, and conduct orchestras and stuff. But his body was slowed down because of the illness. He underwent a brain surgery, hewas afraid that after the surgery he would lose his muscial ability, I think he didnt tho.

of course, he could have ALWAYS been musically gifted...but it was a neat story nonetheless.

I'm a tumor, I'm a tumor

I'm a tumor, I'm a tumor
I'm a tumor

I'm a tumor, I'm a tumor
I'm a tumor

oh oh oh
I'm a tumor

no pleasanties there.

My mother-in-law died in April from a brain tumor. It caused her to have severe grand mal type siezures occasionally. Between these seizures, she had nearly constant mini-seizure in the left side of her body.

I had one 2 1/2 years ago. The only thing it did for me was cause me to lose the hearing in my left ear completely and to screw up my balance.
