10BaseT Ethernet
100BaseT Fast Ethernet
802.11B Wireless Networks
ISDN

Ok, it is not topology, this is topology

Seriously, does anyone know? There has to be some high-level descriptive word. I am trying to describe all the different ways I have hooked computers up to other computers..

they're types of networks... i don't know a big word for 'types'
various network interfaces... something something.
built networks with a variety of connection options/methods...
I think they all classify as interfaces, that's a good word, no?

Are not what?

Ethernet "specifications" or "standards"

"I plug the computers together with the thingy that I can't remember what it's called".

lol.. That is what I had on there originally, but I never got any call backs.. :D Thanks for the well thought out post.

No, look at my second line, they are "LAYER 1 specifications / standards" or "physical specifications / standards" .... and 802.11b is most certainly an Ethernet standard.

You are looking for one term to describe three different things. 10 and 100Base-T are physical media specifications in the IEEE 802.3 (ethernet) standard. 802.11B is a IEEE standard for wireless LANs. ISDN and T1 are digital voice/data lines. I do understand what you are trying to say though. I think notfred said it best :)
