how fast? FUC*EN FAST!!!

like i was getting high pings like in the 1000+ to all sites. so i called RR up and i told them what was going on. they had someone call me up do some tests, and they said that they'll send someone out. saturday arrives. guy comes over, checks the line, checks the outside line, checks the amplifier. come to find out, the modem i had was a piece of crap. it was a motorolla by the way. so he said "the amplifier is giving high something? do the modem that could be causing some problems, because when it gives high something? it affects this so and so modem." so he took it out, put in the newer toshiba ones, and bam. it worked. its fast, and when i say fast, i havent seen it this fast in a while. just hope it continues to be this fast.

download times are average though, like 50-100k. but web pages loading, its fast.

the most I've been able to got when I had cable was 3.2 Mbit/s down
I have DSL now and I'm supposed to have up to 1.4 mbit/s down... havn't seen that kind of speed yet though...

yea i hate attbi too, went from 10mbps down to 1.5. Any way to make this faster? I thought attbi was going to have "steppings" to allow different speeds to different users. Any hardware/software stuff i can do to make this mofo go faster??

how do i find out how fast i am?

I can never get faster than 30 kb/s upload speeds with my cable modem. I've gotten 800 kb/s DL speeds but d/l speeds are limited by the server you're dling from 99% of the time.

When i spoke to the dude from Cox cable, he said he didnt think our uploads were capped... When i upload to peeps (or even my ftp site) i get about 15-18kps... Thats capped isnt it??

Okay did the test at dslreports. Mine sucks compared to you guys... 1247 down and 235 up. At least 24x faster than a standard 56k. Oh well, I never manage to squeeze out that much speed.
