Gonna be applying for grad schools this time next year. Someone asked me what schools I'm gonna apply for. My answer:

"You know how when humans reproduce they have one child at a time and put a lot of attention into it? So if they want 3 kids, they give birth to three and put in the time with those three? Okay, now you know how some fish lay like, a million eggs, and hatch a million baby fish in the hopes that maybe 10 survive? I'm taking the fish approach to applying for grad schools." 🙂

Gonna apply to UofT, McGill, UCSB, UC Berkeley, U Chicago, UPenn, Princeton, Caltech, MIT, Cambridge, one or two in Sweden, a few in Germany, maybe Utrecht in the Netherlands... I'll prolly get a lot of rejections, but I'm gonna hope that one of the evaluators spills some pop on his desk and my application gets stuck to the bottom of some genius kid's on its way to the "got in" pile. 😀

YEAH! University of Pennsylvania (has an expensive application fee)!

I got into UCB (foreign transfer). That was in '99 🙂
Thinking about grad school now, but grad school = mucho dinaro. Who's going to pay the mortgage and feed the family?
