Bradys SB Jersey found

Would you feel different if it were a $500k painting? How about gemstones?

I don't value sports related stuff either, but I don't have a problem with the FBI putting resources into tracking down an object of value that was taken by someone to whom it did not belong. Particularly since in this case it seems to have been taken opportunistically by someone who will no longer be able to get media credentials.

Damn, that's going to give Trump more ammo for building the wall. 🙂

We don't know how much the FBI spent in tracking the theft, but considering its potential worth, its sounds necessary. I would hope the FBI would track down a stolen comic book, phone, painting etc. worth $500k. Thats big time money.

I'm guessing the extent of the "investigation" and resources used was to go arrest the guy after receiving a phone call tip when the thief tried to sell it. Either way even if they spent a few hundred or even a few thousand so what, it's not like they spent millions 'investigating' the events of Bengazi or whether Dubya committed "war crimes" by ordering a military action they disliked.

When stolen property crossed state borders and out of the country, yes the FBI would need to get involved. The complainers are cool with stolen property not being investigated, recovered and the criminals prosecuted. Where do you live? I'm sure criminals want to know.

Appears this person also stolen Brady's jersey from Superbowl 49 and Von Miller's cleats from Superbowl 50.

somebody stole my sock at the laundromat, quick get the FBI to find it!!! I think some guy in Fiji is trying to sell it.

I'm sure you cry about the FBI having an Art Theft Division b/c it's just canvas that someone painted on. I'm surprised you're not whining about why law enforcement didn't arrest Brady for raping a bunch of Falcons in front of 72,000 people and live on national television.

OP, first off they were acting on a tip by an informant and I don't think mega-resources were being tied down by the investigation. Secondly, this A-hole had stolen the jersey from SB 49 AND Von Millers helmet from SB 50. The value of just the 2 jerseys alone was well over $800K, if you owned the bat the Babe Ruth hit his last HR with would you say, "Oh, don't bother, it's just a chunk of wood"..I think NOT. IMHO Brady eventually donates the jersey to the pro football HOF, imagine 50-60 years from now when a starry-eyed 12yr old visits the museum and see's the jersey and reads the story of the greatest comeback of ALL TIME and he imagines how great TB12 really must have been and why he was called "The GOAT". We are all just passing through time, the game in February was TIMELESS and always will be.

Oh that's funny. Putin stole Robert Kraft's ring when he was over there. We knew where it was and the FBI did nothing. Meanwhile waste resources tracking down a $300 jersey.

Bet I couldn't get the FBI to track down my relative if they got kidnapped overseas.

Is it fuck Mexico but we are afraid of Putin??

I'm with the OP, President Trump should de-fund the FBI for investigating this case and possible collusion between Putin and Trump Org campaign insiders.

The FBI has no jurisdiction in Russia and Kraft's ring could easily replaced by simply ordering another one. If this was just a Brady Jersey taken from the equipment room then yea, no biggie, someone could try and claim it was worn in a game but without proof, good luck. This scenario was totally different, the man was in possession of over $800K of sports memorabilia which he carefully planned in advance to steal. It's irrelevant how much Brady's net worth is, those jerseys are in fact his property and in case you didn't watch that game, he had to pass so much (because the Pats were down) that he wound up taking quite a beating. Even on many plays when the ball was thrown/caught the defender is close enough when he releases it he got pummeled. Coming back from 28-3 with 2:13 left in the 3rd Qtr will NEVER be seen or done again in a SB, you need to catch some breaks and play your balls off for it to happen. There are great games, and there are EPIC games, this was perhaps the most epic history will ever see.

What I find stupid is that someone is willing to pay upwards of 500K for a used football jersey.
Well, even if I had the kind of $$ to make that happen I would opt to not try and buy it. I remain puzzled by anyone who cannot understand that to a sports geek something like that is almost priceless. Does anyone remember when Barry Bonds hit his 73rd HR and the melee that erupted when the ball flew into the stands?. Here it is, it sold for $450,000 which was split between 2 fans who were among many battling for it. Think of it as a flying lotto winning ticket heading into the bleachers LOL people turn into ANIMALS in a mill-second when that kind of dough is up for grabs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=af4dRPV_dUc
