Hey AV

A couple of my movies, Pirates of the...: Dead Man's Chest and The Departed, when ripped, have horrible scratchy audio when I play back. The scratched only come out of the left channel I might add also. This problem is occurring in Media Player Classic and Windows Media Center, but when I try to play it back with VLC media player I get perfect audio but very garbled video. The same thing as with VLC happens when I play it through WMP. When I play it through powerdvd, I get perfect video but NO audio

Where should I start to narrow this problem down? I'm ripping using this + AnyDVD 6.5.3.1, playing with the above mentioned players, and I have the CCCP codec pack installed

Is this a movie-specific problem? Player problem? Audio codec problem? Any other ideas?

I think your problem is that you're not using a software blu-ray player to play back your Blu-ray disks. You need to purchase Cyberlink PowerDVD or Arcsoft Total Media Theater for about $100. That should fix your problem.

Did you rip to image in AnyDVD or Rip Video DVD to Hard disk? Image is an exact 1:1 so that wouldn't be it. Also curious as Nebor said how you are playing BR's in VLC and/or MPC.

The same error occurs in PowerDVD. I normally play with VLC or MPC because they're much easier to use

And I've been doing "rip video DVD to hard disk", so I can just locate the .m2ts and delete the rest
