BP6 won't POST

Had a working BP6 + 2*366Celeron. Wanted to reassemble the system. Took everything apart(pretty carefully), put it back together. Wouldn't even POST. As I turn power on, it beeps, and turns off by itself. Removed all cards/drives, left only video(Matrox G400 AGP) - same result. Tried another video card(STB velocity PCI) - same result(but two beeps, weird). Tried to reset BIOS - same.

One weird thing is that before I had to switch the power on at the back of power supply and then push the botton on the front panel. After reassembling it turns on as soon as I turn on the power supply, beeps, and turns off.

Did I somehow damage the mobo? Pretty frustrating... ANY ideas?

TIA

Check the configuration of the power switch and restart button connectors on the mobo, reseat the processors and the ram, video card and try again and check for shorting of the mobo to the case

Make sure nothing is shorting the Mobo in the case. Just install a stick of RAM, ONE CPU, and a vid card you know works. If it keeps beeping, try some research on what the beeping means.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Shorting was what I didn't think about. Since nothing seemed to touch the mobo, I removed all 6 screws and it POSTed. I carefully put them back and assembled the rest of the system, and it works! Probably one of the screws was somehow shorting to the case.

Thanks!
