who goes to New Orleans to look at the marine life?

That might even be a new attraction for you. Toxic Hookers.

Seriously though. If the amount of raw oil that's floating there gets washed up on shore, NO would have to be declared a toxic zone and noone would be allowed to enter or rebuild there.

It will be interesting to see if a bit of this oil spill closes NO forever.

Wonder how many of ya'll remember three-mile Island?

This topic ain't about religion. It's about how all who are and were involved in this really could care less.

They care more about how to save the oil instead of going in a and capping it off.

How much oil do you think it will take to poison 1/3 of all marine life an the plants some feed on.

I am really surprise that a "moderator" can get away with demeaning posters.

I hope this isn't one of those Pro-oBammy sites.

What's TMI got to do with this?

Why would NO ever be declared "toxic"? This stuff does mostly clean up.

Just one of those plumes is 25 miles long, 6 miles wide and 3,000 feet deep. If even 1/3 of that covers NO, it would end NO forever. Anyone who couldn't get it off them pretty quickly, they would get extremely sick and the weakest would die from it'

The oil that would cover the ground won't just sit there, it would soak into the ground and poison the ground and the water tables.

Where would you suggest depositing millions of acres of oil saturated dirt that would have to be dug up to save NO or any coastal area. The vegetation areas in the swamp the oil has hit is dead. It will recover in about a thousand years.

Yes... that oil plume is going to lift off into the air and dump on NO. Uh huh! 🙄

The oil will remain in the outer wetlands, concentrated.

Those plumes have not been confirmed, many say they don't exist.

Why is it Republicans always dispute Scientists?

What makes you think you are better educated and trained than someone that has devoted their entire life to a subject?

Scientists warn of unseen deepwater oil disaster

"Every fish and invertebrate contacting the oil is probably dying. I have no doubt about that," said Prosanta Chakrabarty, a Louisiana State University fish biologist.

Recent discoveries of endangered sea turtles soaked in oil and 22 dolphins found dead in the spill zone only hint at the scope of a potential calamity that could last years and unravel the Gulf's food web.

Preliminary evidence of increased hypoxia in the Gulf was seen during an early May cruise aboard the R/V Pelican, carrying researchers from the University of Georgia, the University of Mississippi and the University of Southern Mississippi.

You fail there!
Shows what you know about hurricanes. It's not just a big wind, high waves.

Camile, the waves were so high and strong, they dumped 2 ships side by side in Gulfport and scooped a sunken shrimp boat and set it on the north side of Hwy 90.

Ya' might just investigate before you embarrass yourself again.
